How is everyone today?  It is Cccooold here in Montreal!!  What do you like to do when you don’t feel like going outside? Aside from browsing your favourite blogs and crafting, of course!  I like to read!! Well, I like to read when I can make the time which was very difficult for me to find this past year.  This year I am making time! It is one of my New Year’s resolutions to READ MORE!  There are so many books I want to read and reread for that matter!  Currently I am re-reading Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice. Feathered Friend

I was inspired by the colors from the Songbird Collection in coloring my Feathered Friend from Can You Digi It? .   This image was part of my August release if you missed it. Songbird is one of my all time favourites from Prima Marketing!  The colors, patterns and sweet images just make me sigh with pleasure when I look at them!   I’ve combined a few panels and added a strip of washi tape too.  All the paper edges and image is sponge distressed with ‘old paper’ distress ink. The tag is made by punching out some light weight scrap cardboard and covering it with a leftover bit of Songbird paper.  I used a Stampin’ Up! paper punch.  I also punched a tiny heart and covered it with Songbird dp and glued it to the corner.  I tied a bow with ribbon seam binding and clipped the mini clothes peg to it, and voila! … a sweet shabby tag embellishment that helped use up some scraps too! Crafty Creations is Recycling!

Peggy thought  we could use any recycled item we have hanging around our crafting tables or in our craft rooms.  Easy and good for the environnement right!  Right Peggy!!    I’m happy to say that I’m sponsoring this week’s Crafty Creations Challenge with images from A Creative Need!  I am blown away by the creativity of the team with their recycled projects!! They are aaaaahhhsome!!  Be sure to stop by the challenge blog to see what they all came up with and to play the challenge of course!  Here’s what I did using my brand spanking new image available as of today!  “Dear Santa”  I colored him with prismacolor pencils aiming for a well lived in, classic look.  The edges of the image are sponged with pumice stone ink and backed with a piece of recycled kraft paper from an old card.  Then I matted that with Chestnut glitter AC card stock that my son had bought for me last Christmas.  I recycled some broken brads by using crystal effects to adhere them to the …
