Mid month Challenge Inspiration

Have you joined us in the May challenge yet?  The theme is  Mother’s Day OR  For Women, so if you haven’t shared your creation with us yet, then I hope you will! There is still plenty of time and to help inspire you we have a few new ideas to share! Lisa made some lovely note papers using ACN Whimsical Flower and Butterflies. New Digital Stamps and a Giveaway!

March is always a sweet month for me, with my birthday celebration on the 2nd, and the promise of Spring in the air! Now I want to share the celebrations with you!  I think the new ACN release brings some sweet treats for everyone.  As in keeping with my blog and shop name, A Creative Need, I am always trying to think of ways to satisfy everyone’s needs!  I love drawing and designing and I work hard to create new images that card makers, crafters, mixed media artists and scrappers will enjoy using in their own unique way!   I hope these will please you.  I am always open to suggestions and ideas from my creative and crafty friends! 🙂 So, I have thought to sell some of my digital images as sets! New Digi Stamp Images for February!

Happy February! January was a busy month of creative frenzy for me! I’ve been working on a few different things which I hope to reveal soon, and I have new images to share with you.  I think they will be fun to work with for Valentines or anniversaries, or greetings of love in general!  Have a look and let me know what you think… An expanding variety of A Creative Need images are available in my SHOP. I altered a few vintage postcards that I picked up at Graphics Fairy by adding my own art images,  some new text, and picking elements from a few different vintage cards to recreate my own versions here. CAS New Home

I made a CAS card for the CASology challenge this week… the key word was CONTRAST…which inspired me to use contrasting colors (coral and turquoise) to make my image pop. I used only four layered digital elements to create my card starting with airbrushed graffiti in coral. The next layer is watercolor paint spatters in turquoise.  Then I placed my Country Heart Chair image and finished with the sentiment.  Super simple and I love the painted background, as it makes me think of painting the walls of a new home! I created all the digital background elements I used here with Corel Painter Essentials 4.  An old version but fabulous nevertheless.  I love digital painting! I can get as creative as I like and use different medias (acrylics, watercolors) and brushes all without the mess! Thanks for stopping by and have a creative day! Deena  

A Couple of Post Christmas Cards

Just before Christmas I cased a card from my friend Peggy’s SCS gallery; I loved all the layers!  She had suggested that we case a card from each other’s gallery when we got together last, which was a lot of fun!  So here is what I did… I used ACN’s Christmas Wreath for my image. and Peggy made this card casing a card from my SCS gallery…. I love the papers she chose! She also used an ACN Image called BELLS and HOLLY. A few more CAS CHRISTMAS cards,  from a couple of our lovely ACN ladies for our challenge this month. Aren’t they beautiful? Gail has embossed her layers which has huge impact on a CAS card, and Kren has used  color and pattern while keeping embellishments to a minimum to maximize visual interest in her CAS card!
