Spring Easter Basket

Today’s color challenge at Splitcoastamper’s was one of my favourites!  We had to use two shades of blue and a light celery green.  Yes, blues and greens are my favourite colors!  I chose to use a lovely Easter basket from Flourishes Signs of Spring.  The sentiment is from Stampin’ Up! (All Holidays).   I received a package in the mail today containing this lovely crinkled seam binding.  I was so happy it arrived in time for this challenge!  I bought it on ETSY from Pink Planet Craft . Thanks so much for stopping by and have a creative day! Deena

Need a Vacation?

I do!  I will soon be swimming in the Caribbean and sooooo looking forward to it!!  We’re all going to Jamaica! Today’s card reflects how I’m longing to be there already!  My son André  had a research project and oral presentation to do just before Christmas, and he decided to do his on Jamaica so he could learn about where we were going (besides it being a lovely vacation spot).   We were SO proud to find out today that he aced it!!   100%!!  Talk about a confidence booster!  He was just beaming!!  André, you are officially hired to be our guide while we’re there! 🙂 I made this a 5″ x 7″ large card for the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday FTTC101!

Sweet Friend

Let me share a few of my favourite things… CAS CARDS– clean and simple designs! RIBBON–  Ribbon can add style to any card! Bows can be formal, prim and proper, whimsical, tied up tight, or free and flowing; there is a ribbon for every design. STAMPS– I enjoy many styles of stamps, but one of my absolute favourites and go to styles is FLOURISHES!  Easy to color and shade because of their tremendous attention to detail and lines…always beautiful and original…I love ’em!! TEXTURED CARDSTOCK– Texture adds richness and depth to your designs, so when I’m making a card with limited elements I like to let the card stock shine! If I want super texture, I emboss! (Swiss dots is still my favourite cuttlebug folder) COPICS–  Once I decided to give these a try, I could not go back to anything else.  Other markers are not the same, if you enjoy coloring…indulge…they’re worth it!! UNEXPECTED and INEXPENSIVE elements- On the card below I added a cut dollar store  paper doily as an accent.  I saved …

Happy New Year!!

Hi everyone!!   Happy New Year to you all!! Our family had a great time with friends and family over Christmas and New Year’s!  I hope you did too. I just have a couple of simple last minute Christmas cards that I didn’t have a chance to share with you before the Holidays.  I still want to show you though, because I thought they were sweet and simple, so a good idea for next year! These are small 4″ square.  The base is embossed with Holly Ribbons cuttlebug folder for a festive beginning, then a panel of Bazzil textured red card stock cut to 3.5″ by 1.75.   Front and center for the little drum by Flourishes, and the tree by Imaginisce, stamped in a golden green.  I brought some bling with the red and green gems for the finishing touch! Thanks for taking some time out to visit me, I hope you enjoy what you see! Deena

Grown With Love

Rustic beauty is the theme Flourishes has brought us with this month’s BBB02 (Bring Back Beautiful challenge).   I think this has a rustic Country charm feel to it, with the distressed seed packet and crochet flowers.   I stamped the seed packet and sentiments on kraft cardstock, then I did a little distressing around the edges and inked it with baja breeze and bermuda bay.   The papers are Crate papers (Samantha collection) that I’ve had for some time…when I like a certain dp, I always buy it in multiples! Thanks for stopping by today!  You know I enjoy your company! 😉 Deena

Gerbera Daisies

Soooooo….what do you think of the new look?  Did you notice?  Of course you did. I had a bit of a blog  identity crisis yesterday and spent  waaaaaay too long trying to find a new “look”. It was like I was at Payless trying on every shoe in the shop!  (I would say Nine West but they don’t even have that many shoes in their shop) . It was like getting ready for a night out, and tossing every piece of clothing I own onto the floor in frustration!! It was like standing in line at Starbucks and drawing a blank because I couldn’t for the life of me decide  if I wanted a non fat vanilla latte or a 3 pump no whip mocha!!! I finally decided.  Not confidently.  Soooooo…if you like it, great! If you don’t like it, you might as well not tell me.  Because I’m not going to change it for a while.  Nope, can’t do it. Would you like to see some pretty daisies? I thought you might!  🙂 Stamps: …

Mother’s Bouquet

I’ve combined the colors from this week’s COLOR THROWDOWN with FLOURISHES twinchies challenge.  Ever hear of a twinchie?  It’s a 2″ x 2″ piece of mini art that should be the focus of your card.  This mini version of Flourishes gorgeous Gerbera Daisies is the stamp I chose to use simply as my focus for this Mother’s Day card.  I colored them with copics in four shades of pink and two shades of green. These are the lovely colors for this week’s color throwdown.  I didn’t have to go far to find them. My 6″ x6″ pad of Sultry Basic Grey papers were calling me! Papers:  pink and basic gray cardstock (SU!) Stamps: Flourishes Gerbera Daisies, Stampin’ Up! All Holidays sentiment Ink: memento tuxedo black Accessories: copics: R01, R11, R20, V01,YG93,G94, Stampin’ Up! basic gray ribbon, dimensional foam I’m so glad you stopped by, enjoy a creative day! All My Love

It’s all about the love… I’ve made today’s card for the Flourishes new release “season of love” challenge.   It may sound corny, but I always feel like I’m coming home when I use Flourishes’ stamps!  I really love them, and feel so comfortable using them.  I’m sure we all have stamps like like that.  This is one of my favorites, so it was perfect for this card! I stamped the image first and colored it with Copics: R20, R29, V01, YG93, YG99 I was inspired by a mosaic tutorial by Beate, and it brought to mind my little used stained glass backgrounder.  So I thought I’d show it some love, and inked it up with versamark ink. I stamped it directly over the image and heat embossed in clear embossing powder.  Using my Tim Holtz ink applicator I sponged over the entire area with pink pirouette ink, and then buffed it with a paper towel. I cut the image out with my Spellbinders Nesties Labels One dies and popped it up on foam adhesive tape.  …
