Vampires and Bats

It’s FALL Y’ALL!!  Crafty Creations Challenge is looking for FALL COLORS: RICH REDS, WARM BROWNS, GOLDEN YELLOWS and  EARTHY ORANGES.  I decided to make a Halloween card inspired by the Fall color challenge using Digital Delights Vampire Pippin digi image. My card is 100% digital!  I’ve colored the image using Corel Painter Essentials and then designed my card using My Memories Suite Software.  I’ve used a brown textured background paper, and a yellow textured ribbon and embellishing with bats, and stitching across the ribbon strip.  I love the shadow feature to add some depth to card elements. At Checkout, copy/paste this Promo Code STMMMS31200 and you’ll receive $10 discount on the software AND $10 at the store! I really do love using this software and highly recommend it to everyone who loves to craft with digis! Have fun! Trick or Treat?!

It’s one day away from Halloween…just enough time to get some last minute treat bags made for my boys!  I used mostly scraps for this project, and turned some ENVELOPES into mini bags with a few simple scores and folds. 1. Seal the envelope (I used an A2 sized envelope) and score both long sides at 1/2″  and one short side at 1/2″.   Cut across the top with decorative scissors. 2. Score the corner on the diagonal and then fold all score lines back and forth a couple of times to make sure they are not stiff.  This will help you get the shape you want when you open it up into a bag. 3. Put your hand in the opening (like a sock puppet)  to push open the bag/envelope and with your other hand push flat the bottom and pinch the side fold flaps.  Glue these little flaps down with strong adhesive or red line tape to the bottom of the bag. 4. Crease your sides, by pushing middle line inwards and pinching …

Halloween Decor Frame Cut file and Tutorial

I made this fun Halloween frame  last week. It’s a great Halloween decoration next to the pumpkins my boys and I made last week too.  They love getting the house decorated for Halloween! I’ve written up a tutorial and include the .cut file too. All cuts are from Happy Hauntings Cricut cartridge.  They are available as a FREE PROJECT at CUSTOM CROPS!  I hope you like it! The image in the frame is my own sketched owl image.  Grab it tomorrow as a FREEBIE for 24 hrs on my blog if you like it! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!! Deena

Halloween Pumpkin Decoration

Create a crafty Decoration! It doesn’t have to be Christmas, it could be for any occasion including Halloween of course. How about bunting, candles, door hangers, pictures, crackers, storage boxes, something to hold your latest crafty purchase……. the list is endless! We are thrilled to have Nikky at Polka Doodles sponsoring this week’ challenge at CRAFTY CREATIONS CHALLENGES!  This is a super easy decoration to make!  They are all over the internet with lots of good tutorials, but really, it is so simple I don’t think you need one.  I simply stacked two different sheets of 6″ x 6″  papers and then cut 1 inch strips.   Stack them and punch a hole at each end using crop a dile, then add a brad at each end.  Gently slide them apart starting from the bottom of the stack until you have a circular pumpkin shape and you’re ready to embellish with some leaves etc.   I think I’ll make a few more of these as a grouping will look really cute on my table!   I …

The Littlest Witch

Hi everyone! This week, Melissa has asked us to take a color combo challenge;  we must use RED, BROWN and GREEN in our cards or projects. I have today’s Crafty Creations challenge card made and I felt so bad about not getting last week’s done (numbers) that I’ve combined it with this week’s new challenge!   Stitchy Bear Stamps is the sponsor for Crafty Creations challenge this week and I was able to use this adorable witch image.  I’m certain she will grow up to be a’good witch’ :)!  I colored her with Copics  and used core impressions texture card stock in green to back the main panels.  The decorative paper is Basic Grey.  I added a Basic Grey red button with some brown thread for  a bit of added interest.  The 31 is cut using my cricut expression with the Happy Hauntings cartridge. That’s it for today, have a good one and thanks for stopping by!! Deena

Clean and Simple Halloween

I made a CAS Halloween card today inspired by a card from Alimarbles gallery on SCS (Ali Manning).  She is the Featured Stamper today and has such a wonderful style! I kept her clean and simple design, but made a Halloween card instead of a Valentine.  The ribbon loop can hold a tootsie roll or rocket candy roll as a quick Halloween treat for a teacher or classmate. Thanks for stopping by!! Deena

Halloween Treats

Jaime has set the challenge over at Crafty Creations today and she is inviting us all to join in on… ALL HALLOWS EVE So pull out your spooky crafting goodies and stop by Crafty Creations to see  some monstrously amazing Halloween creations from the rest of the team! I made a sweet treats bag and will have to make about 40 of these I figure, for my boy’s classmates at school.   The top part is made in my cuttlebug using the labels one nestabilities die.  I layered the dp on black card stock, folded and stapled it to the top of a mini zip lock bag.  I punched two size ovals using my SU! punches and stamped the Happy Halloween sentiment in tangerine ink on vanilla cardstock.  I stamped a little SU! pumpkin, and a studio g dangling spider in the vanilla circle.   These were adhered to the bag with dimensional foam adhesive. I’m so happy you stopped by today!!  I always enjoy your company 😉 !!

A Beary Merry Christmas

Today’s technique challenge on SCS was to make an easel card.  I love this style card!!  Penny has shared her tutorial for us HERE.  I decided to make a Christmas card, after all what better kind of card is there to display and use as a decoration after receiving?  It  was so fun to make and not difficult.  If you have any questions about how I made it, ask away, but I think if you look at the tutorial you’ll see how easy it is! Also, if you haven’t already heard…I’ve been asked to be a Custom Crops designer!!  I’m so excited about this, as you all know how much I love to write my own picture tutorials right here on my blog, now I will be writing some exclusive to Custom Crops too!  I have my first two projects up on CUSTOM CROPS with detailed tutorials and lots of pictures!  So have a look and please  leave me a comment…I soooo appreciate your support!!  This is my first time and I can’t help but …
