Color Me Beautiful

I had fun with the color challenge on SCS! The colors were lilac, coral and green, yes, challenging, but I kind of like it! I used my Cricut to cut the flower layers and the sentiment from the Home Decor cartridge. The papers are from Crate; the Samantha and Blue Hill collection. I had not used them in some time and I was happy to find them and pull them out.  I used a  Martha Stewart lattice punch for the border. Lots of flowers for this challenge: Creative Card Crew – April showers bring May flowers Have a great day and have fun crafting! Deena

Razzleberry Bird

The new QFTD on SCS is Pat Smethers! She is Queen for the Day and so very worthy of the title!!  She is always leaving the most uplifting and kind hearted comments on so many SCS’ers cards!! If you have a moment and would like to see this lovely stamper’s gallery you can right HERE.  I promise you will not be disappointed! This is the card I made casing one in her gallery here. I used the winter woodland Cricut cartridge to cut the tag with the bird in the center.  It’s cut at 2″ and then the shadow feature was used for the razzleberry layer.  I cut another in white with the shadow feature on at 2 1/4″.  The flourish underneath is from the Home Decor cartridge, cut at 1 1/2″.  The corners are cut using a Martha Stewart decorative lattice edge punch. I just center the corners tip in the middle of the border punch.Voila a different corner punch! I’ve used Rubber Stamp Tapestry stamps for the border around the bird in Versacolor …

In Sympathy

A woman I know and speak to often at my son’s school, lost her MIL to cancer yesterday. I made this card for her tonight.  It has been painful and difficult to learn of each stage of the progression of her cancer, as my own MIL was diagnosed with terminal stage 4 lung cancer and has been following the same path jut a couple of months behind her. It is a blessing that my family and I are leaving today to visit with my MIL.  She is still in her home with palliative care, so we will be able to spend some much needed time together.  We spent time with her over Christmas and she was still quite well, although very tired, but she has weakened a great deal since.  She is strong in spirit though and that is what really is important. I used the new F4A1 challenge on SCS to help me with this card…we were to use texture, patterned paper and a color we do not use much.   NAVY is definitely a …

Home Decor Desktop Calendar

Flourishes has lovely digital calendar pages.  Seeing as it was the end of January and I needed a calendar for my craft room, I decided to download them to make a desktop calendar project.  I decorated  this quite quickly and simply with my new Cricut Home Décor cartridge.  But you don’t need a Cricut to make the calendar!  It’s an easel style base so it can be easily opened and closed; I can leave it standing on my desk or pop it in my purse!  It’s compact at 41/4 x 41/4!  If you would like to make one too, I ‘ve written a full picture tutorial you can see HERE at CUSTOM CROPS.  I hope you enjoy it! As always, if you have any questions or comments I am happy to hear them!  Thanks for stopping by! Tonight at midnight I will post the first of three challenge sample cards for Flourishes!! Yippeee!!! They are having a celebration for their 1 year anniversary of Timeless Tuesday Challenges and invited me to make some samples for …
