Warm Autumn Colors

When I think of Autumn colors I think golden hues, rustic reds, burnt oranges, browns and beiges.  Warm colors for a cool season!  Crafty Creations Challenge theme this week is AUTUMN COLORS.  I was missing my friends from CCC and thought I’d join in the challenge this week. I went a little shabby chic with this one,  adding a ragged lace trim ribbon in cream, some gold drops in a scattered formation, and a rich red ribbon which also qualifies this card for the A Creative Need challenge this month which is RIBBONS or BUTTONS! 🙂  A kraft base seemed appropriate for these colors and the tag is stamped in Memento rich brown. A scrap of ric rac finishes the edge of the card in cream. Stop by Crafty Creations and be sure to say hello for me!!!  Have a fun, creative, fabulous day!! Deena

Vampires and Bats

It’s FALL Y’ALL!!  Crafty Creations Challenge is looking for FALL COLORS: RICH REDS, WARM BROWNS, GOLDEN YELLOWS and  EARTHY ORANGES.  I decided to make a Halloween card inspired by the Fall color challenge using Digital Delights Vampire Pippin digi image. My card is 100% digital!  I’ve colored the image using Corel Painter Essentials and then designed my card using My Memories Suite Software.  I’ve used a brown textured background paper, and a yellow textured ribbon and embellishing with bats, and stitching across the ribbon strip.  I love the shadow feature to add some depth to card elements. At Checkout, copy/paste this Promo Code STMMMS31200 and you’ll receive $10 discount on the software AND $10 at the store! I really do love using this software and highly recommend it to everyone who loves to craft with digis! Have fun! Recycle your Ribbon Spools!

I know we all have a lot of these…ribbon spools! When your ribbon is used up what do you do with the empty spool? How many have you thrown away?? Instead of throwing the next one out… try something like this with it! This is so easy and fun to do, and it makes a perfect little gift box for something special! Or just use it yourself to keep a few special pairs of earrings, or rings… Supplies you’ll need: Empty Ribbon spool Toilet paper roll or paper towel roll Stamped or decorative papers Embellishments for the Lid Adhesive circle cutter First I carefully pulled apart the spool. The top round and bottom round pieces pretty easily came away from the middle spool piece. They tore a little, but I was covering it with dp, so no worries! I then measured the height (depth) of the inner spool cylinder. I cut a piece off the toilet paper roll, a bit narrower than the depth of the spool cylinder. Using my circle cutter, I cut dp …
