Hot Cocoa packet Holder Tutorial

Hi everyone!  From the results of the poll I took on the hot cocoa holder I posted last week, there are some of you who wanted a “how to”. So today I went ahead and made a tutorial for you.  Thank you for your response to the poll, it really helps me know what my readers want to see! Materials Cardstock- chocolate chip 8 1/2″  x 6 3/4″,  white Circle punch Double sided adhesive tape Ribbon or brad Scoring tool Stamp- I used UNITY Hodgepodge of Happiness cup and sentiment OPTIONAL: Cuttlebug and embossing folder – I used Snowflakes Die Cut Nestabilities: Labels One Scallop oval punch Step 1:  Score the cardstock at 1/2″ and 4 1/2″ vertically.  Score the bottom edge at 1/2″. Step 2: Cut the corner just below where the score lines cross. Step 3: Add adhesive tape to the bottom folding edge just to the score line. Frosty the… Penguin?

We don’t have snow here yet, in fact today was a mild sunny day!  But I know that it is not far off.  If we are really lucky we may have a month before it hits us.   But why am I talking about snow?  Because SNOW is this week’s Crafty Creations theme!  Fresh Brewed Designs is generously sponsoring us again this week and Heather gave us all images to work with for today’s card.  Isn’t this penguin a cutie? I added some Deco Art snowtex to the rim and ball of his tuque.  The background embossing is Spots and Dots, and the scallop circle is embossed with swiss dots.  The green snowflake dsp is from Stampin’ Up! FRESH BREWED DESIGNS is our fabulous sponsor who let us DT members choose from her digital images to work with this week! They are absolutely adorable! I’m also entering this into the  Die Cut Dreams challenge for the theme of FOOD or DRINK. I decided to make a hot cocoa holder for my pull out feature.  Great for those little pick me up gifts for someone sick this winter (a cup of soup packet would work well) or a sweet treat for anyone! 🙂  I colored the Freshly Brewed image with colorful sharpie markers.  The sentiment is a UNITY stamp from the Hodgepodge of  Happiness set.  The pocket is made from chocolate chip card stock and the snowflakes are  leftover from a borderabilities die cut and some punched flakes  too. I used my nestabilities scalloped rectangle die cuts to frame the image and popped it up on dimensional foam …

White Christmas

Here’s my all white card today for our twisted sister’s challenge.  Shirley (we lovingly refer to her as the bus driver) sets the  challenges and always comes up with something fun! Making an all white card, no image, and only black ink for a sentiment was quite the challenge!  It really inspired me though and this is what I came up with.  Let me know what you think, it was kind of  intimidating at first.  Would you try an all white card? Jump on the bus with us at Splitcoaststampers if you want to, just add TSC1016 to your keywords. I really can’t wait to see what the others have done for this challenge! I’ve layered an embossed panel of white on a card base of white. Falling Sage Leaves

It’s time for a Crafty Creations challenge!  This week the challenge is hosted by Shelly, and she has asked us to create something with Autumn/leaves in mind.  I’m sure you’ll have no problem making projects with leaves at this time of year!! I hope you’ll join us!   PAPER BLOOMS is our sponsor this week so you won’t want to miss it! For my card I’ve included two other challenges, being inspired by both!  The color challenge at SCS today asked for pretty in pink, sage shadow and going gray.  The Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge asked us to “go outside of the frame”!   This is what I came up with tonight when I finally had some time to stamp. I had fun making the background for this! The frame is cut with Labels One Nesties and popped up on dimensional foam adhesive.  I’ve cut the stamped leaves from pink card stock and positioned them so that they seem to be coming out of the frame.  What do you think of the  background?  I stamped it …
