It’s Game On! with a FREEBIE Designer Pack

I’m pitchin’ in for Peggy this week as she started a new job and is extremely busy! So I hosted this week’s Crafty Creations Challenge for Team Two and had time to join in by making a card too! I’ve used my NEW IMAGE: “Pitchin’ In” that I am releasing today in my A Creative Need SHOP. I made a HYBRID card using my new MY MEMORIES SUITE software to create everything except the kraft background and base card.  The baseball and the bat are stickers and I’ve wrapped baker’s twine around the left edge. I used a  My Memories Suite designer pack to create the digital elements of this card!  It was easy: I opened the MyMemories Suite software and chose my album size (I chose 4″ x 6″ for a printable card project).  I  clicked on Embellishments, ADD, ‘browse others’ to open my downloaded  designer pack. I added the papers and elements I wanted to use to create my card, and when I was finished, I clicked: SHARE ALBUM ====> EXPORT PAGES and saved …

Orchids For Someone Special

Hello!! How is your weekend going?  I had a very satisfying,  productive day Saturday as I declared it an ‘unplugged’ day!  None of us was allowed to use/work/play on our computers or video game consoles, or I pods!  Not one video/computer game was played all day!  That’s really something in our house!!  No e-mails were sent, no internet shopping/surfing was done, not even blogging!  I even stopped myself from using my I pad to look up a recipe!  The boys helped their Dad outside with yard work and putting away the patio furniture, whittled some sticks, played, cleaned their rooms (which they do every Saturday) and tidied up the play room.   I cleaned up the house and taught my son how to use the washing machine to do his own load of laundry (for his Scouts badge).  We had errands to run, so we went out for a bit and they each got a book  that they then read later at home! Yay!  The best part? There was actually very little moaning or complaining about …

Merry Christmas Deer

Stamps: A Creative Need “Young Deer” digital image, Paper: 25 Days of Christmas Simple Stories dp Ink: copics Accessories:chocolate chip satin ribbon, I had time to play the Featured Stamper challenge on SCS and this is the card I made!  I really do like how it turned out.  I colored my little deer image with copics, and I think the overall tone of the card has a vintage or at least old fashioned Christmas look to it!  What do you think? The Littlest Witch

Hi everyone! This week, Melissa has asked us to take a color combo challenge;  we must use RED, BROWN and GREEN in our cards or projects. I have today’s Crafty Creations challenge card made and I felt so bad about not getting last week’s done (numbers) that I’ve combined it with this week’s new challenge!   Stitchy Bear Stamps is the sponsor for Crafty Creations challenge this week and I was able to use this adorable witch image.  I’m certain she will grow up to be a’good witch’ :)!  I colored her with Copics  and used core impressions texture card stock in green to back the main panels.  The decorative paper is Basic Grey.  I added a Basic Grey red button with some brown thread for  a bit of added interest.  The 31 is cut using my cricut expression with the Happy Hauntings cartridge. That’s it for today, have a good one and thanks for stopping by!! Deena

Strawberry Fields

Hello!   First off, I will be adding at tutorial for the boxes in my previous post very soon!  Thanks for the lovely comments and for letting me know that you are interested in having a tutorial.  I asked first because writing tutorials is  time consuming and I wanted to make sure there was an interest  before I wrote it. I made today’s card with two challenges in mind…the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (shimmerz or shimmer) and the Stamp Simply challenge on Sharon’ s blog . (Fruit) I am loving my COPICS!!  I colored this with Y00, B21,BG13,R20, R27, R29, E00 I don’t own any green  aside from mint and aqua (blue greens) so I used a yellow base (Y00) and shaded with the blue (B21) then blended with the yellow (Y00) to get my green. I used a touch of the mint green (BG13) and blended it with yellow too.  What do you think?  I am really enjoying how the Copics blend and I feel more like I’m painting than coloring.   I used to …

Inspired by an Artist

Hi!  The card I have to share with you today was inspired by Glenda Mosher’s art.  She is not only a stamper, but an artist as well! I really admire her talent and her lovely paintings!  You can see them for yourself  on her blog.  Glenda’s art was featured as the inspiration challenge choice for this week.  I made two pieces for this challenge!   The first is a card inspired by her Tiger Lily painting.  The second is a little different!  It’s a 1 inch square  “painting”.  I used Rubber Stamp Tapestry stamps for the flowers and stems/leaves, and I sponged in the sky, then used a pin to scratch out white areas to highlight.   I sealed it with Crystal effects. I used the new Fifth Avenue  and  Botanical Blooms sets from Stampin’ Up! and Bird on a branch for the sentiment.  All are stamped direct to paper (Classic K Margo).  I lined the inside with whisper white.  The florals are colored using a blender brush and inks. I guess I was missing my old …

A New Dress (100% Sweet)

I went shopping today for my boys.  Not fun really.  First of all they don’t like shopping.  Second of all, I don’t like shopping with them. I needed them there though, to try on shoes.   It’s like pulling teeth just to get them to try on a pair too.  My oldest Son, who if you recall is only 7 has had a huge growth spurt in the last month!  I can’t keep up.  Maybe I could if there was as much of an assortment of clothes for boys as there is for girls though.  What’s up with that?  I have the hardest time finding a plain pair of blue pants for my son, while in the girls department I pass by 10 different styles!   Boys clothes are really boring.   It’s always the same thing. Girls on the other hand have so much choice!  I see so many cute outfits, dresses, pants, skirts, shorts, capris, tops, sweaters and shoes!!  O.k, too much choice, you Moms of girls might say!   But really, would it be that …
