Giving Thanks

It’s time to give thanks!  It’s American Thanksgiving this weekend, and at Crafty Creations  we are showing our gratitude in many different ways with many different projects! I’ve followed the Stamp with Fun sketch for my card, and I was also inspired by The Shabby Tea Room ‘colors of nature’ photo inspiration challenge.  I loved the colors and I knew I had to use my “Apple Cider” digital image for this thank you card.  It just seemed to fit the occasion! I colored the image with copics in only 4 simple colors!  (E08 for the cinnamon sticks and E11 to lighten them a bit, and for the inside rim of the mug, YG93 for the mug, and R14 with a bit of shading in with E08 again on the apple.) The  background paper and red panel are from Cosmo Cricket Odds & Ends and the others are some scraps I had laying on the table.  For a simple embellishment I’ve tied a little bow with red crinkle ribbon that I purchased on Etsy. I hope those of you …

Embossed Thank You

I’m bringing the heat today with a technique that I’m guilty of neglecting! I love the effect, so I really should use it more often! I heat embossed the background with ash rose versacolor ink (dries slower so emboss powder clings), and did the same for the die cut butterfly.   I tied some embroidery thread in a similar ash rose color around the soft pink wrinkled seam binding. The seam binding is tied in a double bow, for a loopy look.   Added some pink pearls and voila! Stamps: Flourishes Taglines thank you, Cornish Heritage Farms Beautiful, Paper: Bo Bunny gabrielle collection, vanilla cs, Ink: ash rose versa color, pumice stone distress ink, Accessories: clear emboss powder, heat tool,  wrinkled seam binding, cricut, Give a Hoot Cartridge, Graphically Speaking A few fabulous challenges I am entering my card in: Clearly Inspired Stamp challenge: Things with wings Joyful Stamper: Inspire me Fridays anything goes DYSU Challenge Blog: Emboss it! Case Study Thank You

Hello! I just finished an absolutely inspiring blog hop over at CASE STUDY!  The Design Team and their ‘muses’ are so incredibly talented!  I have only just discovered their challenge and it happens to be their 1 year challenge anniversary.  I knew I was going to play along  in the hop and in the challenge to CASE one of the DT members. I chose LIMEDOODLE (Debby) as my case study for my card today.  I love her CAS style and the lovely fresh colors she uses! This is my card… Paper: Lime Twist Life of the Party, white cs, bermuda bay cs Stamps: Botanical Blooms, Branch Out: Stampin’ Up! Accessories: scallop punch Inspired by Debby’s lovely card below Have a wonderful and creative  weekend everyone!

Vintage Botanical

I love it when I can just make a card for no other reason than the passion I feel for creating something! I have been swooning over some of the vintage images at The Graphics Fairy lately, and I’ve downloaded quite a few, so, many thanks to Karen from Graphics Fairy! My card today is a blend of BoBunny gabrielle collection dp, and vintage paper printed on white cardstock  that I folded to make my background  base card. The main image of the apple blossom c. 1890 on a piece of torn scrap paper was printed, cut out and distressed around the edges.  The torn paper is from an old Geography book that had a boys’ name and the year 1891 written in it!  Isn’t that cool?  You can see the date in the top right. I used a Flourishes stamp for my sentiment and added a short piece of crinkled seam binding and a single aqua pearl for embellishment. I was inspired by the SCS sketch today and that got it all started for …

Coneflower Thank You

A simple CAS card…looking forward to sweet Spring days! I’ve used Flourishes stamps and Ranger Distress ink in Broken China on white cardstock.  The script is stamped off once for a faded background for the coneflower. Have a creative day! Deena

Coming Home Again

Hello my friends!  We arrived home on Wednesday afternoon after being away since Sunday.  It was a difficult few days, but everything went as well as could be expected under the circumstances.  For those of you who may not know, my Mother in Law passed away and we went to New Brunswick for her funeral.  We will miss her very much, but we console ourselves with the knowledge that she did not suffer long with the terrible disease that took her from us.  With terminal lung cancer she could have suffered a great deal and we are very grateful that she did not.  In fact, she had little pain and passed away in her sleep at home. Thank you so much for your condolences, prayers and kind comforting words over the last few days.  I am so very touched by your caring thoughts!!!  My children and husband are doing well, but we are all very tired.  A couple of days rest over the weekend will help get us back on track.
