A Walk in the Woods

One of my fabulous Twisted Sistahs is the hostess of the Timeless Tuesday Challenge this week!!  Way to go  Linda!!  Very exciting!!

The challenge is to use our chalks.  I made this card using the poppin’ pastels technique.  I stamped the image in Versamark, then pounced the chalks onto the image.  I blew away any residue and gently erased whatever stray chalk marks I didn’t want on the paper.  I outlined the bird just a little with a fineliner brown marker for definition.

I also used this week’s SCS sketch, so i punched out the image into 9 squares, mounted them on lime green cs, and popped them up on dimensional foam tape.  There is  a lime green layer of tissue paper and the base card is a deep chocolate brown.   The twine is wrapped around the squares a few times and tied off at one corner.  A couple of green dew drops in the corners and I was finished!

What do you think?   It has a really woodsy feel to it doesn’t it?  I still have twigs in my hair from my walk…

Have a creative day, and thanks so much for stopping by today!!  I am happy to answer any questions, and I always appreciate your comments!

  1. This is just gorgeous Deena! Love the poppin’ pastels technique you used for the challenge.

  2. NitaBug says

Beautiful…I didn’t know you could stamp with chalks…I’m going to go and try it!! Thanks for the ideas!

  3. Oh my gosh, this is just STUNNING! I love that you combined 2 challenges int one card, but your chalking is looking more like sketching, it’s done so beautifully! Way to rock these challenges, wow!!

  4. You never cease to amaze me! This card is fantastic! I don’t know what I’m going to do with the chalk challenge…I haven’t used chalks since I was young when I used to draw hopscotch squares on the ground! I don’t see kids doing that nowadays. Anyway, great card 😀
