A Masculine Trio

Hello!! It’s the weekend! Woohoo! I spent the afternoon running around buying party stuff for my kids combined birthday party next weekend! Their birthdays are only 18 days apart so it was just easier this year to combine the parties. We will be out of town for one of their birthdays anyway, so this worked out best! We have family coming in from out of town for it. My Mother in Law will be arriving on Thursday morning from New Brunswick, and staying until Tuesday. My sister and her two boys will be coming on Saturday for the party and staying over to Sunday. We will have a full house, but it should be fun! My 2 sisters in law and 2 brothers in law and my 2 nieces will join us too. Luckily they live nearby, so they won’t need a place to stay! 🙂 I’ve run out of room in my smallish house! I am hoping for some sunny warm weather so we can have the party out in the back yard. All …

Enjoy the Journey!

The SBS 18 Challenge for this week is flying! So I incorporated this challenge with the WT challenge on SCS which was (loosely interpreted) as travel! “Enjoy the Journey” can be interpreted in different ways…take time to enjoy the journey of your life , appreciate the adventure you are about to embark upon, or simply, enjoy the trip! Well, as I made this card, it started me thinking that I need to remind myself to do all of these! I am about to ramble on… you may want to stop here. 🙂 I worry about a million little things. Things that in the ‘big picture’ amount to nothing. I am missing out on what I really should be involved in at the moment. Every now and then, I have to pull myself back and analyze what it is I am getting myself all worked up over. Take time to breathe. Remind myself to lighten up! I sometimes feel like I don’t enjoy things as much as I should, because I am always too busy planning, …

A Magnetic Memento

Hello! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! We had a good one. It was finally warmer, almost hot, on Sunday! Yeah! The week before, it felt more like fall, than spring, so it was really nice to see the sun and feel it’s warmth like we should at this time of year. I spent a good part of Sunday outdoors with the boys, in the back yard and at the park, and we barbecued hot dogs for lunch and steak for supper. Not so healthy, but sooo YUMMY! I want to say Hi to all my new “sisters”! I’m happy to be a part of the Sisterhood of the Blogging Stampers 18! The SBS 18 group has also started a weekly challenge blog. Every wednesday we will have a new challenge and this week the theme is Friendship. I will have a card posted for this by tomorrow! Join in the fun! The challenges are open to anyone. Check it out HERE. Today’s creation is not a card. I wanted to make a …

Caught the Cuttlebug Bug!!

Good Morning all! This is a new design I made a couple of days ago. Sorry, I was too busy yesterday to post anything! I had a play date for my little guy on Thursday that turned into an all afternoon affair, which was nice for me too, ’cause I got to talk to an adult for a few hours. Imagine that! A real adult! What? What is the big deal you ask? Well, let me tell you, the days can be a bit lonely, and loooong when you are only talking to 3 and 6 year olds! Friday, my 6 year old had a play date in the afternoon and I thought I’d be free to do some stuff for myself, but I don’t know what happened…I ended up doing laundry, cleaning and…well, where does the time go?? Last night was a lot of fun, though!! I had two friends over to help me make cards for the fund raiser. One of these friends does not craft at all. Although after last night, she …

I cased myself! I am super busy making cards for the two craft shows and the fund raiser, that I’ve been talking about. So, I decided to case a card that I made a while back that I really loved, simplify it, and make it in multiples! Any time I make a new design now, I am making it in multiples of at least 6 at a time. You would be amazed at how quickly your stock piles up, and at very little extra effort! Honestly, I could normally fuss with a card all evening and end up with just the one. But when I go at it in mind that I am making 6 at once, I really do get 6 done! Once I have the design in my head, the trick is to do each step in multiples, instead of completing one card at a time. Stamp your image 6 times, color it in stages 6 times, cut all your paper pieces for card 6 times. I think you get it!  🙂 This …

Little Boy Blue

Hello! I loved yesterday’s colour combo for the SCS challenge! I was also in the mood to watercolor; I find it very therapeutic, and I needed some therapy yesterday! 🙂 So I chose the Summer By The Sea stamp set to color the little boy. Also, at the bottom of today’s post I will show you a close up of the inside of the Post-it Purse Notes, and make some clarifications about how to assemble it. A few people have had some questions, so I hope this helps! The little boy is stamped in Staz-on and colored with a blender pen and inks. I stamped the bucket in Bayou Blue and cut it out. It is popped up on dimensionals. It is a bit hard to see in the picture, but I also stamped a seashell in Soft Sky on the bottom left corner of the image. Stamps: Summer By the Sea, Life’s a Breeze, Warm Words Paper: Blue Bayou cs, Soft Sky cs, Certainly Celery cs, whisper white cs Ink: Blue Bayou, Soft Sky, …
