Crafty Creations Embossing and Glitter

The Holidays are really upon us and I hope you’re done your shopping because it’s time to decorate!  Crafty Creations Challenge  theme is to ‘Deck the Halls’ with embossing and glitter!   You can make any style card you like, it does not have to be Christmas, but be sure to use glitter, and heat or dry emboss something on it!    I am sponsoring this week’s challenge with 3 free digital images to the winner from my own shop… A Creative Need I hope you will join us for the challenge!  NEXT WEEK we are having a 2 week blog hop and lots of prizes and winners!  I embossed the background using WINTER HOUSE cuttlebug folder  and glittered the tree and snowflakes with dazzling diamond dust. The tree is cut using the Cricut Expression Joys of the Season Cartridge (discontinued). Have a creative day!  Deena

Squigglefly

It’ time for another Squigglefly challenge!  Are you up for it? It’s a Clean and Simple Holiday Theme! I used Holly Ribbons cuttlebug folder to create the embossed background and snowflakes border spellbinder dies for the red panel.  The image is my own “Country Church” available at Squigglefly.   I added some fun flock which I find looks a little dirty in the photo, but is nice and white in real life! A nice easy CAS card for the challenge this week!  I hope you’ll join us at SQUIGGLEFLY!  Please remember to use a Squigglefly image (freebies count too!) to be eligible for the prize. My 6 month term is already finished as part of the Squigglefly DT!   Wow, did that ever fly by!  I had so much fun being on Marlene’s team (GO Marvels!)!!  But don’t be sad, I’ll still be showing you Squigglefly image projects and sharing with my Squigglefly pals!! Thanks to Holly and the Squigglefly team!  Have a creative day everyone and see you over there for the challenge! Deena …

‘Twas the Night Before Christmas…

‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house  Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;  The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,  In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;  The children were nestled all snug in their beds,  While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads; excerpt of poem by  Clement Clarke Moore, or possibly, as the claim has also been made, Henry Livingston, Jr. The Challenges that helped me make this  card: Simon Says Stamp Challenge: photo inspiration (stockings) For Your Inspiration: photo inspiration (colors) The Stamping Boutique– Christmas no traditional colors Paper Crafting Journey– Christmas Celebrate the Occasion– Christmas no green Cute Card Thursday– Anything goes Make it Mondays– always anything goes linky comment party! Christmas Puppy

I had fun making this Crafty Creations challenge card using an adorable image this week from LOTV!   Isn’t this Christmas puppy so cute? It’s not even my week for a DT sample, but I just had to play!  I love this sweet little pup and I need more Christmas cards anyway! A very practical challenge for us this week. This is a petite 4 1/4 square card.  I cut four 2″ squares from Kaiser Craft christmas carnival dp  for the background on a shimmery teal card stock. Season’s Greetings

I love this time of year.   My husband is finished work and is home.  He works by contract in the film industry and it ends up being  seasonal (warm weather) work most of the time.  No one likes to shoot movies in the snow!  Our boys  are at school.  So, we have time to prepare for the holidays and enjoy time alone together.   The boys get more and more excited about Christmas, and yesterday was special because it was the first day they could open a ‘window’ on their advent calendars! They give us their wish lists  and call us down to the playroom to show us the latest greatest commercial for the BEST EVER toy they just would love to have!!  O.k, sometimes this is annoying, but most of the time I find it kind of cute. As each day of December goes by, I will wish more and more that they could be finished school already so we could start the fun!  Their excitement is palpable. We will bake together. We will …
