First Birthday

We celebrated my Great Nephew’s 1st birthday last weekend!  He is so adorable!!  I thought I’d show you the card I made for him with a little help from My Memories Software. This is actually a ONE LAYER card, but I’ve used shadowing to help create the look of layers.  I also added 3 gems for some sparkle. And here is the little prince with his cake! Have a great day!  Deena

The Cutest Little Baby Face

I could never resist taking a photo of my boys fresh out of the bath with a hooded towel over their sweet little heads!  This image was inspired by these memories. Ah,  If only they didn’t grow up quite so fast! I’ve made a digital hybrid card using my newest image “Baby Face”.  My niece is due in in July and we’re having a baby shower for her in May so I made this for  her.  They are having a boy (sure hope so since she painted the room blue now! lol)The N is for Nolan, the name they chose for their baby.  I don’t think she’s ever on my blog so this should be safe to post! Details:  All design elements and paper : Serenity Garden by Dancing Princess Designs (digital kit at My Memories) Accessories: Dew drops, wrinkled seam binding (Etsy) The theme and idea for the card was  inspired by the the My Memories Blog challenge:  An inspiration quote: “The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even …

Cricut Baby Christening Card

I have written a new cricut project tutorial for a Baby Christening card framed with soft ribbon.  Of course the framing technique could be used for many different card occasions, not just for baby’s christening.  Just change up the colors and the image!  You can see the full tutorial with step by step photos at CUSTOM CROPS.  They have fabulous projects there and always FREE for you!  I always appreciate your comments and questions if you have any!  Have a great day and I hope you enjoy the Custom Crops tutorial!  Deena Related articles Published! Anything but a Square Challenge

CRAFTY CREATIONS CHALLENGE this week is to make a  card or creation that is not a square!  So easy right?  I made this card for an order,  for my niece’s friend who just had her baby a week and a half ago.   I knew I would use it for my DT sample as it fit this challenge perfectly; it’s anything but a square, right!  Wags ‘n Whiskers is our challenge sponsor this week!   I used Cricut Design Studio to weld the carriage shape into a card and I also cut the extra carriage layers and butterfly shapes using the Cricut Expression too.  I used the HERITAGE and STRAIGHT FROM THE NEST cartridges.   If you would like the .cut file I added a link to it below. The colors were inspired by the colors of the nursery and butterfly theme too.  The baby’s name of course, is Alexis! .CUT FILE DOWNLOAD HERE Thanks for stopping by today!  You know I enjoy your company!! Something Pink and Something Blue

A couple of new CAS cards I’ve added to my Etsy shop Charmingly Clean and Simple collection. Clean and simple.  I’ve used a mini clear stamp and a Stampin’ Up! sentiment. I hope  all you wonderful Moms out there have a lovely Mother’s Day!!  Thanks for stopping by! Deena

Grand babies are Grand!

I made this for a friend (The Nutty Cardmaker) who has recently become a Grandma!  Her step daughter had a baby girl! I stamped the bear and sentiment from a Flourishes set called Baby Love.  I had never used the sentiment and the bear was only inked once before, so I thought it time to show them some love! To make the flower, I stamped the center of a 3/4″ punched circle with a flower from an SU! set (pensee positives).  I covered the back of the circle with sticky tape.  Then, I made the flower by loosely looping and sticking ribbon onto the back of the circle to form a five petal flower.   You could alternatively add a button to the flower center, like I did on another one of these cards. Challenges: WT316 on SCS Flourishes Timeless Tuesday #111 (use a previously unused stamp from a purchased set…never used the sentiment) Thanks for stopping by and have a creative day! Deena

New Beginnings

Well I’m back with something new…It’s been a while since I’ve been in my craft room.  The boys are back at school now and things should be more or less normal around here, so I may actually find time for some card making.   I hope.  It’s part of the plan.   But you know what they say about the best laid plans… This is a super cute image from Pink Gem Designs.  Copics were used, scissors cut, foam tape popped it up.  The papers are from the October Afternoon Ducks in A Row 8″ x 8″ pad.  The circle mats were cut at 3.25″ and 2.75″ using the cricut and Accent Essentials cartridge. I’ve also used sketch #200 from Card Positioning Systems. If you would like to show off your own “New Beginnings” themed cards, go to Crafty Creations for lots of inspiration and link up your creations! Have a great day, and have fun!! Deena

Fables and FairyTales

Lets escape our realities for a short while by making cards  that are fairy tale themed! Fables and Fairy Tales is the theme I set this week for our Crafty Creations challenge.  I chose this adorable cuddle dragon from Meljen’s Designs.  Meljen’s Designs are just gorgeous, and they are sponsoring our challenge this week!  The DT made some really cute creations, so stop by and have a look! My wee Puff the magic dragon is colored with copics and the scalloped square is cut with the cricut.  I love  the center point button on my cricut to get the shape cut around the printed image! It works so well with digital images. The papers are Basic Grey dps and C’ordinations embossed cardstock in light green.  The card base is suede cardstock from SU! I had a very busy couple of days and it was so fun to escape reality for a while.  I hummed “Puff the Magic Dragon” to myself the whole time I was making this card! Thanks so much for stopping by!!
