A Creative Need Inspiration

I have another creation from our ACN Design Team member NAZNEEN that I wanted to share with you! Can you believe this beautiful hand doodled background!?   Her watercolor resist with the image is fabulous too!   Be sure to stop by her blog to give her some love! Nazneen used the ACN DAFFODILS image. Have a great day and enjoy these early signs of spring!!

Embellishing Challenge

If you know me me at all, you know that I do not use a lot of embellishing on my projects.  I like to keep things simple! But that is not to say that I don’t appreciate seeing all the gorgeous projects created with clusters of perfect embellies!! I really do admire you crafters that can transform your projects in such a way that the embellies don’t overwhelm the rest of the creation.  I  can’t seem to do that, so I keep it simple.   So even today’s card for our Crafty Creations Challenge is simply adorned.  But it does have the required embellishments.  I used three gems and a lovely silk ribbon bow as my embellishments, and used a punched circle tag for the sentiment. MY HEART PIECES is the sponsor this week and I’ve use one of Priyanka’s lovely images.  (Birthday Girl) The papers are lilybeedesign (This & That). Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful, creative day!  Deena

Shabby Chic and simply sweet

Hello!  I wanted to share with you this sweet shabby chic card I made for a birthday (french sentiment). I punched the top border with an SU! punch, wrapped a panel of gorgeous dp with some green hemp twine and tied a button and a hand punched tag to it.  The base card is kraft cardstock(Bazzill). The stamp sentiment is from Bonnidée. Have a creative day everyone!!  Deena

Buttons and Tags

I had a great weekend away with friends. We stayed for a night in Kingston Ontario and did some shopping, had drinks outside at Tango tapas bar (our favourite) and then went for a late dinner.  It was so wonderful to catch up with my friends, without the kids around!  The weather was beautiful for a road trip too!  We really had a fabulous time.  I hope you all had a good weekend too! I thought I’d share a tag and button birthday card I made.  I used a teal base and added some fun new doublesided dp on a kraft mat panel.  3 squares are punched from the same dp and adhered to the background dp, and the tag is popped up on dimensional foam tape on the top right with a bitty seam binding tie.  I attached three little buttons with some twine continuing the circle and squares theme. Thanks for stopping by, and a have yourselves a creative week!  Deena

Songbirds

I just LOVE these new papers from Prima Marketing! The SONGBIRD collection is so soft and pretty, and simple.  I let the paper speak for itself here, just adding a birthday note held with some natural hemp twine and a small clothespin. I hope you have a happy day and don’t forget to feed your creative needs.  Deena

Paper Piecing

Here’s a card I thought I’d share on this dismal rainy cold day….in hopes that it brightens it up a bit! I used “Flower Trio” by Nina B.  and paper pieced the petals.  Lots of bright cheery colors here for a fun happy card!  Hope it brightens someone’s day! Deena

Simply Paper Pieced

I love it when a card comes together like it was nothin‘! I made this simple paper pieced vase using two Unity stamps. I stamped the flower first on the white card stock,  then the vase on the dp (My Mind’s Eye Lime twist). I used Jilly bean soup blossom soup dp for the background panel…you need to look closely to see that it’s not the same as the vase dp!   The die cut layer was cut using the Graphically Speaking cartridge in my Cricut expression.  The center of the flower and the outline of the oval  is lightly inked with mint blue Copic  B01.  I stamped the Flourishes (taglines) sentiment and voila! I’d like to mention that this card was inspired by Limedoodle’s beautiful CAS cards!  I didn’t  case any particular card, but I spent some time perusing her blog and was surely inspired! I’m playing in a few challenges: fun with shapes and more: what you want Joyful Stamper: Inspire me Fridays anything goes So glad you had a moment to spend …

Boyz to Men

Wednesday already!  Which means it’s  Crafty Creations challenge time.  This week the theme is “Boyz to Men”, and we’re being sponsored by Lily Of  The Valley Stamps!  Their stamps are really adorable; just wait until you see them all!! I colored this sweet little guy with water color crayons and a paint brush because I wanted to keep it soft.  I find copics too bright, or maybe I’m just too heavy handed or simply don’t have enough pale markers!  Hmmmm?  That would mean more shopping required, so it’s just as well I used water colors! Do you see the background file/ index card?  I cut that with my Cricut using the Graphically Speaking cartridge; I think I may have bought this cartridge specifically for that  image!  I’m so bad. I used a fabulous sketch from Kathy’s Waffle Sketch File: July 2011 Sketch.  However, I had a duh! moment since the title is: JULY SKETCH: OVALLY nice.  Well, as you can see I did not use an oval for my main image panel!  I guess I’m …
