Bon Voyage!

I used a technique called “Direct to Paper” and made this Bon Voyage vacation/travel card.   The tutorial is on SCS if you would like to have a look. I used Versa Color and Color Box chalk inks to create the sun and the waves, stamped the Technique Tuesday ship and sentiment in Versa Color Bark ink, and added the crinkled seam binding through two set eyelets.  The result?  Well, I’ll let you be the judge of that! I took the Color Throwdown challenge: blue, green, and yellow! Thanks for stopping by!  You know I enjoy your company!! Deena

Take a Risk

I really like this quote by T.S. Eliot. It really speaks to me, although I would not consider myself much of a risk taker.  Still, I can appreciate the genuine curiosity of those who do risk going that one step further than most of us.  Sometimes in life it’s the “What if’s?” that stop us from moving forward, or trying new things, but then again, it’s also  the “What if’s?” that can inspire the possibility of  a positive outcome, of  something great!  Sometimes we need to push our limits to see just how far we can go! Blue Jewel

Thursday’s SCS challenge was to use jewels. I had just received these beautiful new stamps and had to use them! They are from Rubber Stamp Tapestry and they are extremely tiny stamps! The vase is no more than 3/4 of an inch tall and 1/2 inch wide. So you can image how tiny the rest are! I also used some tiny floral and leaf stamps from Technique Tuesday. Love these mini stamps! This fabulous blue and brown dp is by Demi Design (hemidemisemiquaver) offered free for downloading, on her blog.   She’s wonderfully talented!  Have a look at her blog. The vase is stamped in Basic black and embossed with clear ep. I colored it in with Twinkling H2O’s and a mini paintbrush. Because the image was embossed even this tiny area can be easily painted.  If I get any outside the lines, I can just polish off the embossed areas. Click to Enlarge! For any of you who may not have tried Twinkling H2O’s, they are shimmery watercolors that are easy to work with.  …
