Crafty Creations Envelope bag

Hello!   This week on Crafty Creations the challenge is to make something  SWEET AND YUMMY.  We have a fabulous sponsor too, so be sure to enter your creations (any craft is accepted as long as it falls into this theme) by next Tuesday May 5th!  Our sponsor this week is Tanny’s Treasures who has a wonderful store on E-Bay, filled with craft supplies and embellishments.  She is giving away a load of treasures to this week’s lucky winner!! You can see a photo of the prize on Crafty Creations Challenge. Below is a sweets Bag a Lope that I’ve made for this week’s design team inspiration sample.  These bags are easy and fun to make!  All you need is an envelope and a scoring tool!   For this little bag, I used a standard A2 sized brown envelope, sealed it shut,  cut off the top, scored 1 inch in down both long ends and 1 inch up across the bottom.   There is a good tutorial for this on Splitcoaststampers.   You can use any size envelope as …

Take Time To Enjoy Your Day

Take time to enjoy your day…a latte! As you may already know, I am a coffee lover!   I need my coffee in the morning BEFORE I talk to anyone, or I cannot be held responsible for what I might muster the energy to grumble at you!  🙂 But I also enjoy a good cup of coffee later in the day too, especially in the company of a good friend.   It’s safe to spend time with me after 10am. 😉 I have a few favorites too, if you ever want to buy me a cup, 😉 my usual from Starbuck’s is a mocha no whip, but I’m happy to drink a latte, or a cappuccino, or in the summer, a java chip! Mmmmm.  What are you addicted to? lol. I cased a card from my Twisted Sistah’s gallery for today’s card.  Darla Ryan is the featured stamper for our challenge this week, and she had loads of cute cards to choose from.   I changed the layout slightly, used the same coffee theme, but used different …

Dancing a Two Step!

Yes I’m dancing a two step for Sharon’s notimetostamp blog challenge. Sharon is having a week long celebration and it’s going to be FUN!  Today’s Stamp Simply challenge asks us two create something using a two or three step stamp and try to incorporate flowers or butterflies a la StampincuzILuv2‘s Dee, Sharon’s featured stamper this week! I was limited to a choice of three, two step stamps, and I chose this one because I have always thought it to be so beautiful, yet have not used it that often. Time to ink it up again! I also used Beate’s Weekend Sketch Challenge #56 as my starting off point. I tweaked it a bit by changing it to a square card, and stamping the image on the second layer, instead of giving it it’s own panel. The MFT Boho Blossom is stamped directly on the dp, as well as the words Friendship, joy and love. You may have to look very closely to see the latter two! 🙂  The outline is stamped in Pink Pirouette, and …

Today’s the Day!

Today’s the Day!!   A simple challenge and some blog candy! What could be better, right?  Don’t you all just love a good challenge?  And what about blog candy? That’s fun too, right? Well I’ve got some goodies put together for a lucky winner!  I’ll post a picture tomorrow. 🙂 Don’t worry,  the challenge isn’t too difficult, and this challenge/blog candy will stay open until August 30th. I challenge you to make a card showing your support for someone who is in need of it, and send it to them. THEN, LEAVE ME A LINK IN A COMMENT ON THIS POST, SO I CAN SEE IT TOO! If you don’t have a blog and would like to play, attach your card picture to an e-mail for me.  That’s it.  Not too much to ask is it?  Everyone knows someone who needs support in one way or another.  Of that I have no doubt.  Whether it be a small issue or large, there is always someone who could use your support.  So pick someone, please! Here’s one …

My first ATC!

That’s right! My first! I made this  a couple of weeks ago for my SBS18 sister for our monthly swap. I don’t know why I haven’t made ATC’s before, they are fun to make! I have to thank Diane, A.K.A miss apple on splitcoast for showing me this background technique! She came over to stamp with me a month ago and showed me her ‘colorwash’ technique. She uses glimmer sprays and mixed ink sprays to spritz watercolor paper. The leaf design is made by laying down a mask ( in this case a plastic leaf) and spritzing over it, then removing it. The other mask is some grid tape! So fun to do! I love how this turned out! Stamps: Boho Bliss MFT Accessories: glimmer mists, dragonfly punch, plastic leaf, mesh tape Paper: Watercolor Paper Fabriano? Ink: Taken with Teal

Caught the Cuttlebug Bug!!

Good Morning all! This is a new design I made a couple of days ago. Sorry, I was too busy yesterday to post anything! I had a play date for my little guy on Thursday that turned into an all afternoon affair, which was nice for me too, ’cause I got to talk to an adult for a few hours. Imagine that! A real adult! What? What is the big deal you ask? Well, let me tell you, the days can be a bit lonely, and loooong when you are only talking to 3 and 6 year olds! Friday, my 6 year old had a play date in the afternoon and I thought I’d be free to do some stuff for myself, but I don’t know what happened…I ended up doing laundry, cleaning and…well, where does the time go?? Last night was a lot of fun, though!! I had two friends over to help me make cards for the fund raiser. One of these friends does not craft at all. Although after last night, she …

Blue Bayou Thank You

Hello everyone! I have a new project or two in the works, but for today I will share a card with you that I made a while back. I forgot to upload it to my gallery on SCS, so I thought I’d put it up here. It was a thank you for a friend who gave me some wonderful stamped images. The blossom is a favorite of mine from My Favorite Things, stamped in Blue Bayou ink, cut out and popped up on dimesionals. The small decorative blossoms are stamped directly onto the dp, as well as the sentiment and swirl stamp. All edges are sponged lightly with Wild Wasabi. I really love these colors! Blue Bayou is probably my favorite SU color! Stamps- Boho Blossoms My Favorite Things, Stampin’ Up! Sentiment Paper- Soft Sky Stampin’ Up! , Memory Box dp, Blue Bayou Stampin’ Up! Ink- Purely Pomegranate SU, Blue Bayou SU, Wild Wasabi SU Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day !

In Color

Hello! Half way through the week and so looking forward to the long weekend! I get to stamp with a friend I met through SCS on Monday! I can’t wait! She does some gorgeous color washes on her cards and her cards are so unique and beautiful! If you’re heading on over to SCS, have a peek at her gallery! Miss Apple is her Nom de Plume! Today I have two cards to share with you! The first one is the card I made yesterday for the color challenge on SCS. The colors we were challenged to use were Pumpkin Pie, Ruby Red, and Soft Sky. Well I love this combo! Who’d a thought? I decided not to use any dp on this one. I simply stamped the base cream card with my CHF Floral Backgrounder in Ruby Red. I went in with ink and a blender pen to give it some depth by adding color to a few random flowers and leaves. The main image is a gorgeous bloom also from CHF. I inked …

Cake and Coffee Anyone?

Good morning! Anyone up for some Cake and Coffee? Well before I serve up the cake and coffee I have to do a bit of complaining 😦 I’m cooold this morning! It is a rainy dreary day and my furnace seems to have decided that it had a long hard winter and is throwing in the towel! Thank goodness it didn’t decide this a few weeks earlier, or I would really be chattering my teeth! I hate being cold!! Gas Met says they won’t be able to come until tomorrow. Between 7am and 12pm!! Way to narrow it down guys! I only really have to leave the house once tomorrow, to pick up my son from school…so of course, that’s when they’ll come! This is one of my pet peeves. I do not like waiting around for repair people to show up! So, I am now drinking LOTS of HOT coffee and trying to look on the bright side. Really I’m trying. Cake cheers me up…how about you? The cake is a case of a …

Think Pink!

I made these yesterday using the SCS sketch challenge for inspiration. As soon as I saw the layout I was sure it would work well for what I had in mind. I will be making and selling cards to raise money for a fund raiser, and support my friend. She will be doing the 60k walk for The Weekend to End Breast Cancer in Montreal. So, I have until mid August to come up with ideas and make unique but easy to reproduce cards! I think this one works! Yay! I’m pleased with it. OH!! Don’t forget! Tomorrow I will be drawing the winner for the creative candy posted back on Monday! If you haven’t left a comment on that post …What are waiting for? Go! Also, go have a look at TODAY’S FAVES! There are some awesome new cards from other bloggers! I’m in the process of adding links to great tutorials and fun techniques, so, if you have one you would like to share, let me know and I’ll link you up! Have …
