Buttons and Tags

I had a great weekend away with friends. We stayed for a night in Kingston Ontario and did some shopping, had drinks outside at Tango tapas bar (our favourite) and then went for a late dinner.  It was so wonderful to catch up with my friends, without the kids around!  The weather was beautiful for a road trip too!  We really had a fabulous time.  I hope you all had a good weekend too! I thought I’d share a tag and button birthday card I made.  I used a teal base and added some fun new doublesided dp on a kraft mat panel.  3 squares are punched from the same dp and adhered to the background dp, and the tag is popped up on dimensional foam tape on the top right with a bitty seam binding tie.  I attached three little buttons with some twine continuing the circle and squares theme. Thanks for stopping by, and a have yourselves a creative week!  Deena

Inspired Artisans: Christina’s Venicia Creations

Happy Friday!  I’d like to introduce Christina to our Inspired Artisans Friday feature! Welcome Christina! Tell us a little about yourself… Hi there! My name is Christina and I’m the designer behind Venicia Creations. I’m a registered dietitian by day and a mommy to a very active three year old little boy. I’m married to a wonderful and supportive husband. My family is Italian so we all speak very loudly but have a great time together! What handmade product do you to sell on Etsy and what is the name of your shop?  Do you sell your work elsewhere? In my shop Venicia Creations, I sell handmade jewelry (mostly necklaces and earrings) and some accessories (hairpins, rings, bookmarks, keychains). I love my jewelry very chunky and bold, with a lot of colors! I also just signed up to sell at Luulla.com, so that is pretty new and will have my shop also on The Craftstar. Can you share a few of your favourite items here with us?  I just LOVE mustard yellow right now so this …

Pastels, Pearls and Lace

The Crafty Creations Challenge theme for this week is pastels, pearls and lace. I was inspired me to make a shabby chic card! I had fun designing a collage background using several images from Digital Scrap Delights on pink design paper and a white  base card, then added a strip of pink lace and a crinkled seam binding bow.  I hand cut the tiny tag from some kraft card stock and stamped a ‘for you’ sentiment from Flourishes (Signs of Spring) held with a cream colored button and a bit of blue cord.  Three teeny aqua blue pearls on the butterflies and the tag for the finishing touch. Come join us for the challenge, and have a look at the lovely creations that the team made!  Thanks for stopping by and have a creative day my friends!  Deena

What handmade product do you to sell on Etsy and what is the name of your shop? Do you sell …

Masculine Birthday Card

My friend’s birthday is this weekend, so I was happy that our Crafty Creations challenge this week allowed me to make just what I needed!  Claire (Hope Jacare) set the challenge and supplied some really fun ‘guy’ images!  Can you tell that I had a blast with this one?! It is another digi hybrid card using My Memories Suite Software.  I cannot tell you enough how much I love this software! It has really opened new paths to my cardmaking.  I love visually designing my card in the program, adding the papers I want and then the elements.  I save and export the finished card as a .jpg and print it. Then I print a few embellishments, cut them out and add them to the card for some extra depth and dimension.   Can you tell what is cut out and popped on from what is actually just a flat layer with shadows to create an illusion of depth? If you would like to play with your own copy of this fun software you can …

Rain Rain Go Away

A quick CAS card today, yes, I’m wishing the rain would GO AWAY! Stamp: Vintage Goodies #14 set from Create With TLC It wasn’t my group’s week to play in the challenge, but I couldn’t help myself! I love the image! I used Cricut Fancy Frames cartridge Frame 7, fussy cut the digi image and added dew drops. Eh Voila! I love it! Fun Masculine Birthday Card

Here’s a fun digital hybrid card!  I used  JBarrette’s Totally Rad Birthday papers and elements to put this together with My Memories Software. The scrap kit is available at Sweet Shoppe Designs. I printed the card, cupcake and tag elements, cut out and popped up the cupcake and used a white card stock base.  The french sentiment is from Bonnidee stamps . Challenge: Crafty Cardmakers – for the boys By the way, my Digis are on sale at A Creative Need right now for 30% off!!   Use coupon code NEWDISCOUNT at checkout and it will automatically be applied.  Have a creative day!  Deena

Birthday Agenda

I recently made a bunch of birthday cards and since they were for coworkers in my husband’s office, I thought this would be a fun theme to go with.  I added little paper tabs on the right of the loose leaf paper, popped up the sentiment and stamped some sweet little balloons on the paper.  The banners across the bottom are a fun twist instead of across the top as you might expect! What do you think? I’m having a SALE on my digi stamps over on ETSY!  Go grab them while they are 30% OFF for the weekend! The discount code is “NEWDISCOUNT” at checkout.
