Turn up the Heat!

Today was ccccold here in Montreal!!!  So it is very fitting that  we are turning up the heat at Crafty Creations this week, with a challenge to HEAT EMBOSS your creations. Our sponsor is PATTIE G and we were so happy to play with her images!  I’ve used Butterfly 1 from Patties Creations shop. I used FLORAL BACKGROUNDER from Cornish Heritage Farms inked with Versamark and then sprinkled with polysparkle embossing powder (ranger).  My heat tool barely made it.  I realized that something was broken inside and rattling!  There was a melting plastic smell too, so I think I had better buy a new one before I heat emboss again!   I love the look of the background and tried my best to capture the sparkle and shine of it in the photo, but truly it is prettier in real life!  The butterfly is colored with copics and I’ve added dazzling diamonds glitter to the wings. I hope you will join us at Crafty Creations  for the  HEAT EMBOSSING CHALLENGE!   Don’t be left out in …

Rain or Shine Friend

Get out your umbrellas, jump in some puddles and dance in the rain! It’s April and that means Spring showers are on their way and at Crafty creations challenge this week  Melissa is our star weather girl and she’s calling for rain! This is rainy Mae from Some Odd Girl stamps! Isn’t she a sweetie?  I used an MFT sentiment stamp that I’ve had for years that just seemed to work perfectly here.   I  tried an SCS color combo (poppy, baja breeze blue, and pear green) to make my card today.  The background is stamped using a canvas background from Stampin’ Up!  in baja breeze ink.  I thought it looked like a sheet of rain and I like how it worked.  For the finishing touch I added some pearls to imitate raindrops. Some Odd Girl is having a challenge too for CAS cards! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a creative day everyone!! Join us at Crafty Creations with your rainy day creations! Deena

Fables and FairyTales

Lets escape our realities for a short while by making cards  that are fairy tale themed! Fables and Fairy Tales is the theme I set this week for our Crafty Creations challenge.  I chose this adorable cuddle dragon from Meljen’s Designs.  Meljen’s Designs are just gorgeous, and they are sponsoring our challenge this week!  The DT made some really cute creations, so stop by and have a look! My wee Puff the magic dragon is colored with copics and the scalloped square is cut with the cricut.  I love  the center point button on my cricut to get the shape cut around the printed image! It works so well with digital images. The papers are Basic Grey dps and C’ordinations embossed cardstock in light green.  The card base is suede cardstock from SU! I had a very busy couple of days and it was so fun to escape reality for a while.  I hummed “Puff the Magic Dragon” to myself the whole time I was making this card! Thanks so much for stopping by!! You …

Winged Things

I’ve chosen the theme at Crafty Creations this week as Winged Things.  Come share your winged creations with us…fairies, butterflies, birds. angels, these are just a few of the possibilities! The bonus challenge is to make it a Z Fold card!  If you need some help with this fold, Beate shares her Z Fold tutorial HERE.  I changed the dimensions to 5 1/2″ x 11″ and scored at 2 3/4″, and 5 1/2″. The image is from our SPONSOR this week…Robyn’s Fetish Digital Stamps.  Isn’t that birdy  tweet?! I colored it with copics.  The sentiment was cut with the Cricut, but I can’t remember now which cartridge I used.  The papers are from October Afternoon Ducks in a Row. Thanks for stopping by! Crafty Creations and Bugaboo Stamps

It’s Wednesday and time for another Crafty Creations Challenge!   This week is super easy!!  Just pick your favorite stamp and have fun!!  Our sponsor is BUGABOO STAMPS and the winner will receive 7 images!!! As part of the DT I picked this cute digi stamp from Bugaboo to use for my card today. I used Stampin’ Up! Sanded background stamp in Bermuda Bay on the Kraft base card.  The layer of bermuda bay is embossed with the swiss dots cuttlebug folder.  The image is colored with Copics: B24, G94, YG99, R27, R01, and a black marker. Poor little bug!!   I thought this sentiment stamp  from Paper Pretties “One of Those Days” was fitting for this image! Thanks so much for stopping by!! Your visits and comments inspire me!! Have a creative day! Deena

Mother’s Bouquet

I’ve combined the colors from this week’s COLOR THROWDOWN with FLOURISHES twinchies challenge.  Ever hear of a twinchie?  It’s a 2″ x 2″ piece of mini art that should be the focus of your card.  This mini version of Flourishes gorgeous Gerbera Daisies is the stamp I chose to use simply as my focus for this Mother’s Day card.  I colored them with copics in four shades of pink and two shades of green. These are the lovely colors for this week’s color throwdown.  I didn’t have to go far to find them. My 6″ x6″ pad of Sultry Basic Grey papers were calling me! Papers:  pink and basic gray cardstock (SU!) Stamps: Flourishes Gerbera Daisies, Stampin’ Up! All Holidays sentiment Ink: memento tuxedo black Accessories: copics: R01, R11, R20, V01,YG93,G94, Stampin’ Up! basic gray ribbon, dimensional foam I’m so glad you stopped by, enjoy a creative day! Pink Vanilla Birthday

Jennifer has set out the Crafty Creations Challenge for us this week.  We were to use “shades of one color”.   I used shades of pink creams.  The yummy image is from Fresh Brewed Designs, our sponsor this week! I used Copics to color the mug and cupcake, using these yummy sounding colors; R00 pinkish white, R01 pinkish vanilla,R11 pale cherry pink, and E11 barely beige. The papers are from Creative Memories. The flowers are handmade, and the lattice borders are done with a Martha Stewart punch. I hope you’ll join us for this week’s challenge at CRAFTY CREATIONS CHALLENGES! Thanks for stopping by, and for your sweet comments!  I so appreciate them, and love to visit you too, so if you are new here be sure to leave me a link to your own blog! Have a creative day!

Birthday Cheer!

I love this sweet image from Philomena O’Neil. I recently came across her digital images at Phindy’s Place and I am in awe of how cute, creative and detailed they are!  I decided to make a birthday card with this adorable image called “It’s All Yours!”, and inspired by the challenges listed below. I colored the image with Copics and used Basic Grey Nook and Pantry dp for the background.  The card stock is Prism paper.  I love the texture and weight of this card stock and have been using it more lately.  The sentiment is a Stampin’ Up stamp, stamped and punched out twice with a circle punch and a scallop circle punch to layer the two colors. Challenges: Stamp Something: “Something Cute” C.R.A.F.T challenge: “Digi colouring” Thanks for stopping by,  and for your encouraging words while I’ve been complaining about being sick! Have a creative day!!

Birthday Wishes

This is the first card I’ve made for 2010! I had a great Holiday spending a lot of quality time with our families and enjoying the festivities over Christmas and New Year’s, but I’m happy to get back to stamping now!  I’m hoping I’ll have lots time to get creative this year! Today’s Featured Stamper on SCS is Ardodd and I wanted to case a birthday type card since I will be needing a few very soon.   Anne’s gallery is filled with wonderful inspiration and it wasn’t hard to find a card to case.  Here’s what i came up with after a few changes.  I basically kept the sketch and the embossed layer the same and changed the rest for my card. Paper: white card stock, rose card stock Ink: Memento tuxedo black Stamps: Stampin’ Up! For a Friend, House Mouse Make a Wish Accessories: Copics R29, R 24, R20, E00, E11, E33, Y00,  heart brad, Happy Birthday cuttlebug embossing folder After having had a houseful of guests for the last 6 days, and all …
