A New CAS Challenge Make Over

It is Monday morning, the FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL for both my boys.  One is returning, going into grade 3 and my little guy starts Kindergarten later today!!  I am excited for him, because he is sooo obviously excited too. But, I am also a little sad, because it means he’s officially not my “baby” any more.  So much changes when children start school…the way they look at things, the way they behave, attitudes, more independance…which can all be good, but sometimes bad, or at least hard to take as a MOMMY!!  I am sure I will survive;  I am  looking forward to having some extra time to craft. Speaking of crafting….this is a card I made last night.   This week’s CAS (clean and simple) card is all about MAKE OVERS!  I had to pick one of my own cards to re do in a CAS style.  So here is take two of a card I made quite a while back. Here is the first take below: I love blues and browns together, can you …

Every Purse Needs a Gift Card in it!

I made these GIFT CARD HOLDERS months ago and I guess they just never  made it to my blog.  I was so sure I had posted them that I just spent 15 minutes looking back through my posts only NOT to find it! lol.  I guess I thought about posting them and then never did! Yikes, I must be losing it!! Anyway, today’s SCS Limited Supplies challenge was to make a gift card holder (any kind) and it had to have a butterfly and something chocolate on it…so I thought of these and made another one for the challenge. Isn’t a purse  the perfect way to present a GIFT CARD?  I’ve added an insert to hold it securely (slots and a sticky foam dot). The first is the one I made for today’s challenge. Papers: jenni bowlin studio, Basic Grey dp, very vanilla cs, chocolate cs Accessories: cuttlebug, classic scalloped circles, Labels One nestabilities, Chocolate chip ribbon, misc. hardware Have a wonderful weekend everyone!   Thanks so much for stopping by!

Cool Pastures

This week’s Crafty Creations Challenge is ON THE FARM!   I admit, I was stumped for this one, I guess I’m just not a farm girl!!   I finally decided on using these farm animals with sunglasses on… I think they’re so cute! Materials: Martha Stewart picket fence punch Memento tuxedo black ink Copics Red Riding Hood Card stock, Basic Black CS Delta stamps Come and join in the farm fun at Crafty Creations Challenges!  Jaime is offering  a lovely assortment from her CTMH store to the lucky winner! Have a creative day!!

Birthday Style

It’s my sweet friend’s birthday today and I made this for her.  She loves these Ketto images and I wanted to make her something fun, happy and bright!  Her favourite color is blue, so of course…lots of blue.  This is also for the the RAINBOW challenge over on Gingersnap Creations. GC20 The theme there this month is happiness; so I think a Happy birthday card with lots of color qualifies. We didn’t have to use every color in the rainbow, thank goodness! 🙂 I stamped Suzette Ketto (StampingBella) and colored her with Co pi cs.   I used jenni Bowlin Tangerine Dream papers and Stampin’ Up! Dusty Durango card stock for the base. I think orange makes blue really POP! Thanks for stopping by,  you know I love it when you do!!

Mini Backpack Album Tutorial

I am so excited to share this with you!! A few weeks ago I was asked by Peata of Scrapbook Crazy if I would be interested in sharing a tutorial for a  mini scrapbook album with them. Of course I was, and ideas started dancing in my head.  Since she said she would be including it in the upcoming  newsletter, I immediately thought a back to school project would be a fun idea. I have been busy buying my boys school supplies (two long lists) clothes, and backpacks, so, I think with all things school related going through my head, I came up with this idea of a making a mini backpack album.   The tutorial was featured a few days ago on Scrapbook-Crazy HERE. (Peata’s kind words made me blush!) I had a lot of fun working on this, thanks to Peata for inviting me to do it!!   Have a look at Peata’s blog , it is positively overflowing with great ideas for mini albums and scrapbooking creativity!!   She is super sweet too!! I …

You are Special FTTC

The Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge is on and this week Dee has challenged everyone to use Olive, Red and Black together in a card.  I love this color combo!!  What do you think?  At first I thought it would be difficult to use, but I was inspired by the DT samples and just had to try it! I stamped the strawberry basket and colored it with my Copic markeres, using R20, R29, E00, E31.  I added some red dots to the napkin hanging out of the basket.   The black border was done using the Stampin’ Up eyelet border punch,  and a real red ribbon finishes off the card.  Easy, but elegant! Stamps: Flourishes Strawberries Ink: Memento tuxedo black Papers: Old Olive cs, classic white cs (Flourishes), Accessories: copics, real red ribbon, eyelet border punch (SU! ) Thanks for stopping by today, you know I love it when you do!!

TAGS

Tags are  so fun and quick to make, and this week Crafty Creations is challenging us to make some! I stamped the birds from Butterflies and Birds clear stamp set by Inkadinkado in Broken china ink. The tags are punched from vanilla card stock and the edges are inked with Weathered Wood ink (Tim Holtz distress inks).   They are tied with Basic Grey taffeta ribbon, and I’ve added a tiny crystal on each. This is a large style tag measuring 3.5″ x 2.5″.   The dp is Razzleberry Lemonade (Stampin’ UP! ), and the base is Bermuda bay card stock.  I used the Martha Stewart daisy punch to cut the corners and punched the dragonfly. Have a look at the other DT members beautiful tag creations over at Crafty Creations Challenges!! You won’t be disappointed, they absolutely amaze me with they’re talent!! I hope you’ll be inspired to create a few tags of your own…they are great to have on hand for gifts or to add to a project. Thanks for stopping by and have a …

Yellow Mini Notes

YELLOW is the color of this week’s CRAFTY CREATIONS CHALLENGE!  Hop on over there to see what the rest of the design team came up with in celebration of  the summer’s hottest color!! I made these bright yellow mini 3″ x 3″ notes for this week’s challenge… I used my favorite swiss dots folder to emboss the Bazzill Yellow cardstock, and  this cute little owl is from Stampin’ Up!’s Forest Friends stamp set.   Don’t you think he’s just the sweetest?  What is it with owls these days anyways?  They have become such a trend in craft design!  Not that I’m complaining, since I’ve fallen for them too! These are quite bright, but I think they’re kind of fun, what do think? Come and join us at Crafty Creations and share your YELLOW sensations with us!  I’m looking forward to it!! Have a creative day, and thanks for stopping by! You know i love your company! 😉

Butterfly Dreams

Hello!!   We are officially on vacation, but we had to postpone our overnight trip to Grandby zoo as thunder showers are headed our way.  The way my head is pounding from the pressure and humidity, it is coming soon!  So, whatever we decide to do with the boys tomorrow it will have to be indoors…maybe the science centre. I have a quick card to share with you tonight; I was inspired by this vase design http://www.bellacor.com/productdetail/271229.htm for the inspiration challenge this week at SCS. The butterfly is stamped and colored with copics, and dipped in dazzling diamonds glitter. It’s popped up on dimensional foam tape. The sentiment is one of my favorites from Cornish Heritage Farms. Thanks for stopping by!   Chat with you again soon!!

Back to School backpack

This little backpack was inspired by the SCS tutorial .  As some of you know, I’m not one to use templates, as I’d rather fuss around with my own, or try something that I think might make my life easier.  So, for this backpack I made the main body of the backpack using an envelope bag which I find super simple to do.  I think the shape of it looks much like the backpack bag.  I followed the SCS tutorial for the front pouch, and ribbon ties at the top and back. I will be giving this with a little gift tucked inside, to the French tutor we had for my son over the summer.  She’s been really wonderful! Thanks for stopping by and have a creative day!!
