Angels Sing

Angels are the theme at Crafty Creations today! I had this tiny angel from Cornish Heritage Farms that I wanted to use and I thought it worked well with this tree from Stampin’ Up.   I used an old olive cardstock base and  this vintage style dp from my friend Peggy.  I think it’s by Kaiser kraft.  The pine cone boughs are cut with the cricut and the Joys of the Season cartridge.   There is a dusting of dazzling diamond glitter on the wings of the angel and the boughs of the tree.   I stamped the background trees by inking and stamping off once on a scrap paper, then stamping again my cardstock.  The middle tree is not stamped off so it appears slightly darker than the other two.  All the edges are sponged with  crushed olive Distress Ranger ink. Thanks so much for stopping by!  It’s such a busy time of year; shopping, wrapping, decorating and baking and my boys are getting so very excited for Christmas!  Last night we went to see my …

Photo Inspiration Challenge

Hi everyone! This week at Crafty Creations Bernie has chosen a lovely photo to inspire our designs.   Stop by to see how it might inspire yours, and join us! I paper pieced this dress form from Unity stamps, using some pink and green daisy d’s papers.  I also added some color using my copics.  Then I finished it off with three threaded buttons.  Clean and simple! Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day! Deena

Home For the Holidays Tags

I love making tags!  For these I’ve used the Joys of the Season cricut cartridge to weld a little house to the tag base. Then I simply cut the base, cut another house out of  dp (Pink Paislee Father Christmas), stamped, sponged and added baker’s twine for the tie! The tag is 1.75 inches wide and 3 inches tall.  Here’s a pic of all three… I used Memento rich cocoa ink to sponge the edges and stamp the snowflakes.   The sentiments are stamped in broken china Distress Ranger Distress ink, and rich cocoa. Thanks for stopping by!! Deena

Snow Bears

The challenge at Crafty Creations this week is to use a bear image on our projects.  Our sponsor is  a  talented young lady who at only 16, is designing her own images!  She gave us a few of her adorable bear images to play with!  You can find all Purple Panda Designs HERE. I used one of her darling images on my card below, but first I wanted to share my Son’s card. My talented young son drew his own bear image, and we will be sending it out on some of our Christmas cards this year!  He was inspired by a drawing in a wonderful children’s Christmas book by Usborne.     He is always so sweet in telling me how much he likes my cards and that he wants to make cards “as good as mine”.   Well, I know his talents will far out grow mine!  I’m his number 1 fan already, but he sure would appreciate hearing what you think! And here’s my own card for Crafty Creations this week… I added some flocking …

Snow!

We had our first BIG snowfall in Montreal yesterday, and it’s still coming down today…almost 25 cm so far.   So it’s looking like a white Christmas for us!   The kids were thrilled to see it coming down, and hoped that school would be closed today, but to their disappointment, it was NOT.  Oh well, they only have 2 and a half weeks left before Christmas break! I made another card holder using the cricut .cut file that I made the other day.   I just used different paper and cut out and added the bird and key with the sentiment  “I promise to provide you with security and warmth through the Holidays and forever after.”   Isn’t that a nice sentiment?  I’ve had that paper awhile, but I’m pretty sure that the bird is from Webster’s Pages Christmas dp.   The tea cup dp was given to me by my sweet friend Peggy (The Nutty Cardmaker)!  It’s by daisy d Snowflakes and Holly paper pad. Click HERE for the .cut file. Thanks for stopping by, you know I …

Cup of Cheer Gift Card Holder

GIFT CARD HOLDERS is the theme for this week’s Crafty Creations challenge.  I’ve been down with the flu this past week and drinking lots of  hot comforting mugs of tea with lemon, so perhaps that’s why I used this cup shape  for my gift card holder! I designed the card by welding the cup to it’s flipped image  uisng the Cricut Design Studio and Joys of the Season cartridge.  The holly border is cut into the dp layer, the dp  is adhered to a second layer ( front cup shape) cut from white card stock  for additional stability. These two layers were adhered with double sided tape to the front of the card base to form the pocket for the gift card.  The mistletoe is cut from the same cartridge and I’ve use two little candy cane beads for the berries.  The inside sentiment is from Flourishes Sweets of the Season set. I often give coffee shop gift cards at Christmas, and I think this is a fun way to present them.  I like that …
