New Watercolor Digital Art and Sale on Throw Pillows

Hello friends,  I wanted to share with you my new impressionist watercolor design done completely with my digital paintbrush in Corel Painter!  I am fascinated with the blending of digital and traditional art.  I love painting and I enjoy the freedom of having more options and less mess with the digital paints and brushes that are now at my fingertips.  I only use the brushes that have a traditional feel and function as closely to traditional mediums as possible to get the more natural look that I am after.  I do not use special effects or alter my art in any way.  I simply use my wacom tablet and stylus as my brush and the Corel Painter workspace as my canvas.  I even have the option to mix my paint colors on a palette! I always start with a clean white canvas and build my layers from there.   I am feeling very inspired, so keep your eyes open for more like this! I am loving these colors too…what do you think?   Also, I wanted to let you …

Mini Mushroom Village Card Set

Hello! I’m back from an all too short vacation! But,  I’ve missed you all!! 🙂 I do have an exciting announcement to make… I am now making some of my prints and patterns available on different products at Society6!  I’m super nervous about this but I’ve taken the plunge! My MINI MUSHROOM VILLAGE cards are now available as sets of 3, 5 or 10 at SOCIETY6!  They will be printed and shipped to your door! You can see more of what I have in store at Society6 HERE.  Let me know what you think…I’m being very selective as to what I will make available there so you will not see the same things as in my ACNPrintable Art Etsy shop.  Let me know if you are looking for a particular pattern or image for a product and I’ll see what I can do.   Thank you!  Your feedback, comments and support are so very much appreciated.

Something New

Did any of you get some new crafting goodies to play with over Christmas?  Did you pick up some new papers or stamps at that fabulous boxing day sale?!  Well, Crafty Creations Challenges wants to make sure you use all those shiny new things! The challenge this week is SOMETHING NEW!  Use a NEW tool, stamp, embellishment, paper, or even a new (to you) technique!  The SPONSOR this week is      SEW MANY CARDS I received some new Cricut cartridges for Christmas! Yay!  I’ve used  frame 2 from my Fancy Frames cartridge cut at  3 1/2″ .  I cut it from a darker shade of sage green and then cut the Frame 2 layer in a paler sage.   The image is printed and colored in copics on cream cardstock. I punched 3 small hearts from the pale sage to add around the frame edge and then added two little heart buttons tied with twine for a sweet finishing embellishment. Season’s Greetings

I love this time of year.   My husband is finished work and is home.  He works by contract in the film industry and it ends up being  seasonal (warm weather) work most of the time.  No one likes to shoot movies in the snow!  Our boys  are at school.  So, we have time to prepare for the holidays and enjoy time alone together.   The boys get more and more excited about Christmas, and yesterday was special because it was the first day they could open a ‘window’ on their advent calendars! They give us their wish lists  and call us down to the playroom to show us the latest greatest commercial for the BEST EVER toy they just would love to have!!  O.k, sometimes this is annoying, but most of the time I find it kind of cute. As each day of December goes by, I will wish more and more that they could be finished school already so we could start the fun!  Their excitement is palpable. We will bake together. We will …

Crafty Creations is Recycling!

Peggy thought  we could use any recycled item we have hanging around our crafting tables or in our craft rooms.  Easy and good for the environnement right!  Right Peggy!!    I’m happy to say that I’m sponsoring this week’s Crafty Creations Challenge with images from A Creative Need!  I am blown away by the creativity of the team with their recycled projects!! They are aaaaahhhsome!!  Be sure to stop by the challenge blog to see what they all came up with and to play the challenge of course!  Here’s what I did using my brand spanking new image available as of today!  “Dear Santa”  I colored him with prismacolor pencils aiming for a well lived in, classic look.  The edges of the image are sponged with pumice stone ink and backed with a piece of recycled kraft paper from an old card.  Then I matted that with Chestnut glitter AC card stock that my son had bought for me last Christmas.  I recycled some broken brads by using crystal effects to adhere them to the …

Evening Romance

Michelle Pearson’s gallery on SCS is full of unique cards! I chose to case Evening Breezes for the Featured Stamper challenge. I used my “Shall we Dance” silhouette image and a frame from the  Cricut Graphically Speaking cartridge.  I love the elegance of the frame and it’s so unexpected coming from this cartridge! It is a much more versatile cartridge than I was expecting.   I actually used the negative cut from the frame for the whole face of the card, and the remaining piece to mat the image. Be sure to use BLOGFANSRGR8 code if purchasing images from A Creative Need through  to Midnight Oct 31st! One day left!    Also, there is just one day left for a chance to win one of three great prizes from Squigglefly.com in their Mega Giveaway!  Any purchases made through October 31st will be eligible to win! You can see my available images at Squigglefly HERE.  The three winners will be announced on the blog November 1st! Have a great day!  Deena

CAS Card with Willow Designs Stamp

A quick clean and simple card for my “any occasion” stash.   I’ve used a Winnie image from the Walter and Winnie card extras pack at Willow Designs.   It is a pre-colored image, so this card was super quick and easy!   I just added some embossing across the top and the dp that I got from the pack too.   Hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by!!   Deena

A New Image, BUY ONE Get TWO!

Did you know that  October is BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH?  I wanted to do my *small* part in showing my support and helping spread the word.  Research is so important, and we  can  be a part of the movement to end all cancers.  Just by sending  our cards to those fighting cancer can do so much to help!  As you know there are many card drives going on in our crafting community and they need all of our support.  Will you join in? SCS is having their 2nd annual Hope You Can Cling To Card Drive and I made this card to show my support.  The image I’ve used is a new one I drew after a little birdie whispered in my ear that it would be a good idea to draw something for cancer awareness.  She is absolutely right!  I hope that the sale of this image will benefit ALL OF US!   HOW WILL IT BENEFIT CANCER RESEARCH?  $1.00 from every sale of this “Hope Branch” image  from my ETSY shop, will be …

Bon Voyage Card for World Card Making Day

Did you know that  TODAY SATURDAY OCT. 1  is WORLD CARD MAKING DAY?    I hope you all have time to make a card today! I was asked to make a special card for  a friend’s mother who will be travelling to Vancouver B.C soon.  The request was for a card that could hold two gift cards and be themed as a “Bon Voyage”  card.   I decided I needed some luggage for this, so I drew  a stack of three vintage style cases and colored them digitally in some  fun “retro” colors. I made a 5.5 inch square card base and cut the ‘Vancouver’ , and the and the  tag using the Cricut and Plantin Schoolbook cartridge.  The note paper panel with ‘Au Revoir” stamped on it ,  is <image 44 s cut at 3″> from the Graphically Speaking cartridge.  The sentiments are from Technique Tuesday’s All Aboard stamp set. Inside is a pop up  with two gift card holder slots: I’ll be giving the card to my friend today so I’ll find out …
