Do you know someone right now who is feeling a little under the weather?  With Fall comes the onset of cold, wet weather, and the kids back in school spreading around germs, so unfortunately, it’s hard to fend off all those colds and flu! Now is the time to make those much appreciated GET WELL cards!  Crafty Creations is looking for GET WELL creations, so come and join us! I’ve colored Fresh Brewed Designs images with copics and followed RETRO SKETCHES sketch challenge for my Get Well card.  I’m also entering this into the warm and fuzzy DIGITAL TUESDAY CHALLENGE. A Sketchy Squigglefly Challenge

This week at Squigglefly Marlene (our super fearless and funny leader) has given us a fabulous sketch to follow!   I had a ton of fun working on this sketch  with my friend Peggy over for the better part of Friday!  We not only had time to make cards, but also to go out to lunch and head over to my local scrapbook store!  A fabulous day!  Thanks to Des (hubby extraordinaire) for picking up the boys from school giving us plenty of time to play!!  Could a girl have it any better?!  I think not. Head on over to Squigglefly to play the SKETCH CHALLENGE and don’t forget to use any of your favourite Squigglefly images for a chance to win!!  For my card I used a Lulu Lancaster image called Gothic Bouquet and colored her up with Copics.  I think she is so sweet with those sad puppy dog eyes. I thought it would make a good “get well” card for a friend who’s been really sick for a couple of weeks now.   I …

Get Well Soon

A card with some sass today!  It’s my turn to host this week’s Crafty Creations Challenge and it’s a GET WELL theme.  Digi’s With Attitude has graciously given the DT a couple of Grumpy Gretchen naughty nurse images to play with.   I think I’ll keep this one for my husband next time he is feeling a little under the weather! I colored her with copics and made a simple gate fold card.  The get well image on the front is from k i memories, punched out with a 1 1/4″ square punch and matted with blue cardstock  using a square  1 3/8″ paper punch.   I used a brass brad and  hardware to act as a closure. I hope blogger is working  now, as it was acting up when I was trying to post the challenge!  Come have a look at all the DT’s  sassy creations and play along too! Thanks for stopping by and have a creative day!! Deena

A Distressing Challenge

It’s time for a new Crafty Creations challenge set by the lovely Claire.   This week we are being challenged to distress our creations.    Our fabulous sponsor is SoftPencil Digital stamps!!  Join us at Crafty Creations and show us your distressed best! I used bermuda bay as my base with Bo Bunny Gypsy Spice dp.  The brown/blue panel is sanded Core’dinations card stock. I frayed the edges for some added distressing.  I like the contrast created by the distressing with this super cute image from SoftPencil!  What do you think? I hope you’ll join in the challenge! Thanks for stopping by!! Deena

Get Well Mini Set

Hi there!   It’s FRIDAY!!! Yippeeeee hurrraaay…. Can you tell I had a bit of a loooong week! lol.   Well it’s been a week of sick people around me, and I must say I am amazed I have not fallen ill myself with so much of it around me!  My youngest son and my husband have had very bad colds, which in the case of my husband has turned into an infection needing antibiotics.  I feel bad for him because it’s his birthday on Sunday.  I sure hope he is feeling better by then! I think it’s appropriate that I  made these little GET WELL minis to share with you today!  They are 3″x3″. I used “quite contrary” dp, a new line of My Mind’s Eye paper and Prism yellow card stock.  The litte flower is punched and I curled the edges with my stylus. Challenges: CCEE Stampers: get well Secret Stamper: get well Alphabet Challenge blog: Y is for Yellow Stampin’ Royalty: KISS (keep it simple sweetie) These will be for sale in my ETSY …

Well Wishes

Well another weekend has come and gone!  How fast they seem to go, and I find it so hard to get motivated for the weekly routine again.  Hate those mean mondays!! I am playing catch up with a couple of cards I made this week, have a look, I hope you enjoy them! I made this one for a friend who got quite sick over the Easter weekend and is still recuperating.  Trees are a sign of life, health, strength and rejuvenation, which is why I’ve used it here.  I like the gentle earthy feel of the card, what do you think?  I stamped the tree from Stampin’ Up!  Forest Friends in wild wasabi ink, cut it out and shadowed it with wild wasabi card stock. The Timeless Tuesday challenge this week at Flourishes is to use paper piercing , so I pulled out this scoll stamp and pierced around it free hand. I also added pierced dots under the sentiment.  This card has a bit of a masculine feel for me, simple but strong …

Buttons and Bunny Slippers!

O.k I don’t own any bunny slippers…but I wouldn’t be opposed to wearing them when I’m feeling sick!  🙂 Bunnies can cheer just about anyone up! I made this little 4 1/4 X 4 1/4 square card for a triple challenge!  I used Friday Sketchers sketch#12 , incorporated the color challenge from SCS, and finally the inspiration for the card in the first place…Paper Pretties weekly challenge! Their challenge was to use buttons, as many as we wanted to. Isn’t she cute?  This is Sophie from Paper Pretties!  She is so fun to colour and I decided to cut her out for this, since it suited the sketch.  I tied the buttons with a little thread too, I think it adds just the right touch. Stamps: Paper Pretties Bunny Slippers Paper: Afternoon tea SU, Groovy Guava, Sahara Sand substituted with DCWV cs Ink: Basic Black, Going Gray Accessories: buttons, thread, circle scallop punch, Neocolor II watersolouble crayons, blender brush So glad you stopped in!  Hope you are inspired by something you see here! 🙂 Have …

Add some Interest with Folds!

YES!  It’s friday!   That means it time for a Limited Supply challenge on Splitcoast!  I think these may be my favourite challenges…or is the sketch challenge…hmm, well I guess I’ll take either!  🙂 Today’s challenge was to limit our supplies, and create some interest by having our cards open in different ways.  Well it’s been done before, but I think a trifold card adds a lot of interest and I half mooned the front panel too. I started with Bazzill green cs cut to 5 1/2″ X 12 and scored the length at 4″ and 8″.  I used my creative memories circle cutting system to cut the half moon in the front panel.  I hid the ends of the ribbon under the dp on the half moon and the top fold, so I could tie the card closed. I stamped my new Flourishes Spring Ephemerals directly on the dp in Rose Red stamped off once so it would not be so bright.  I then used my blender pen to trace lines through the leaves with …
