A New Year’s Eve Wedding

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with your loved ones, family and friends! We had a really fun family Christmas Eve and day at home, then on to my sister’s and then my mom’s house for a few days after Christmas.   I even got to see my big brother and his family at my mom’s, as they drove in from Stratford Ontario, and we all had a great visit!  The boys had a great time, especially with their cousins.  It’s really fun to see everyone together,  and having fun.  I only wish we could do it more often! I am so looking forward to tomorrow evening!  It will be the first New Year’s Eve, in quite a while, that we will really  celebrate in style!   Our friends are getting married!!  What a party it will be!   We are staying over at the hotel after the reception, because it will be very late and next to impossible to get a taxi home.  So we are really making a night of it!  The boys will …

Here comes Rudolph!

Rudolph the red nosed reindeer, had a very shiny nose…and if you ever saw it you would even say it glows (like a lightbulb)!!  All of the other reindeer used to laugh and call him names (like Pinocchio); they wouldn’t let poor Rudolph join in any reindeer games( like monopoly)! At the head of Santa’s sleigh Rudolph says….Now who’s laughing?  heehee  I get such a kick out of this image! I think Des will too…so this one’s for him! Tonight’s the night…the kid’s have been so excited they are going a bit coocoo!  We’ve all been listening to a lot of Christmas music and my youngest loves filling in the “extras” to the Rudolph song. Stamps: Holiday lineup SU, background Stamp by Stampin’ Up! Paper: Crate Samantha collection, Whisper white , Red Riding hood SU! Ink: Jet black archival ink Accessories: versamark, red tinsel ep, red glitter gel pen Techniques: heat embossing I wish you all a wonderful Christmas !!

Snowglobe Tags!

I love snowglobes!!   There is simply something magical about them!  I like to stare into them and watch the snow swirling, it always makes me think dreamy thoughts of past Christmas wishes, and childhood moments.   Can you resist shaking one when you see it?? I can’t! My love of snowglobes inspired me to make these  gift tags. I made the little snowglobes using self laminating sheets fro business cards.  I had bought them a while back at the dollar store, thinking I would find a purpose for them, and I finally did! I used my clear snail adhesive (SU!)  on the bottom side of the sheet (the top sheet is already sticky).  Then, I sprinkled the glitter on top, laid down my punched tree and snowman, and placed the top adhesive sheet over it all.  I cut the circles with my circle cutter.  I was actually able to use my circle punch, but decided not to since it was a bit stiff to punch through. For the base I used my SU! tab punch, and …

Wrappers and Ornaments

I made these quick Candy cane wrappers for my Son’s class.   I wanted 24  of them for Friday’s Christmas party. The challenge on SCS  tonight was to make quick last minute gifts, so this is it! I got the idea for these wrappers from Paper Craft Planet.  They were so easy to make! I also made these ornaments inspired by one I saw on my SBS sister Bridgett’s blog.  You can see a simple video for these by Chicn’Scratch here. I am almost ready for Christmas! Yeah!! I just have to wrap, wrap  wrap now!  Oh, and go grocery shopping, so we’ll have some yummy food over the holiday. I’m so glad you stopped by, and thank you for all your kind comments!! You are fabulous!! Have a great day!!

Mitten Gift Card Holder

I saw a lovely mitten garland in Scrapbook and Cards Today magazine, and I had the idea to make a mitten gift card holder. I drew my own template.    It is approximately 41/4″  at the widest point x 5 1/2″ from top to bottom. EDITED TO ADD TEMPLATE LINK mitten-template The gift card is tucked into the palm of the mitten (front panel) I used SCS‘s tuesday color challenge for my color choices, so the base mitten is basic gray, as is the ribbon. The snowflakes are baja breeze cs, and the scallop trim is kiwi kiss cardstock by Stampin’ UP! Here’s How: I cut out 1 base mitten, and 1 top panel cut  to the bottom of the cuff of the mitten. I glued the top panel to the bottom but just around the edges and bottom so that there is room for the gift card to slip inside. Then, I cut one more mitten outline up to the cuff in decorative paper and covered the top panel. I embellished it with kiwi kiss …

Give a gift or two!

Hi everyone!  How are you making out with Holiday preparations?  I still have so much to do.  I haven’t even started wrapping gifts, in fact, I still have a few to buy!  I’ve been really busy, but I’ve been having fun too! This past weekend was great.   The boys wanted to make a movie, so they came up with their own story about a boy, and Santa, and I shot it with my small digital camera.  It turned out to be so cute and the boys were so happy with it, that they watched it over and over!  It’s about 3 minutes long.  Now we have to make copies of it, for their Grandmas, who will love it!! Des, my husband, is off work now, so the running around and last minute stuff is much easier to do!  He also gets to enjoy the excitement of the boys before Christmas, and their ever mounting hyperness too!  heehee!   I love having him around during the day!! This week’s Crafty Creations challenge is “GIFTED” so I thought …

A Green Christmas

There is a LOT of SNOW here, so I am not talking about that kind of green Christmas!  No, the limited supply challenge on friday on SCS was for us to go green, meaning reuse, or recycle something and use it on our cards.  Now, I keep my Christmas cards from one year to the other for sentimental reasons, as well as for recycling bits!  🙂 I pulled off three die cuts from one card, and made three new cards with them.  I am pretty pleased with myself. 😉 hehehe I also reduced wasted paper by simply complying with the rules of Sharon’s Stamp Simply Challenge.  She asked us to use only a 2 inch strip of decorative paper on our cards.  So that is exactly what I did, using Flourishes beautiful glitter paper. Simple, green, cards.  I love it!! Stamps: Take Three sentiment Stampin’ Up! Paper: Kiwi Kiss cs, Flourishes glitter Ink: Ruby Red Stampin Up! Thanks for stopping by!   I really appreciate it, as I know how busy everyone is during the …

Just a little something

If you’ve been paying attention, you cannot have missed it;  there has been a flurry of activity going on in blog land!  Namely, a few blogging elves who have been busy giving away candy and creating beautiful, inspiring things for us all to ooh!  and ahh! over!?  I’m talking about Stamp Simply Party Central, over at  No Time To Stamp?  She and her creative design team have been featuring projects en masse in celebration of Sharon’s blog reaching 1 million hits!! Well today is the last day of the celebrations, and I wanted to share what I have been inspired to make since this party started. On day 8 of the 12 day celebrations, Julie from Out To Impress challenged us to make some small gifts to have on hand during the holiday season. So, I decided to pull out these plain white favor boxes that I had been hoarding and decorated them with a few strips of dp,  die cut foam snowflakes, and some ribbon, and I was done!   I punched a window in …

Labor of Love

I just love this image from High Hopes stamps!  Probably because I have two little boys and it  makes me think of them. I  made this card using the Friday Sketchers Sketch #30, but unfortuneately missed the deadline to enter it in the challenge, duh! I had made it plenty early too, then just forgot to upload it! Not too much to tell about this one. I just colored it in with my watercolor crayons, and used some Basic Grey and Stampin’ Up! papers for the sketch.  The blue flakes are cut using a cuttlebug die on adhesive backed foam I bought at the dollar store.  It cuts so well! Hope you like it!   Thanks so much for dropping by today!   You know I love your company!!   😉

Snow Flurries

It’s sunday evening and I’ve made it through a very busy weekend! I am tired, but glad that so much was accomplished! My boys had a blast at the Christmas party and seeing their faces when Santa got there was wonderful!!  They laughed their little heads off too during the magician’s act.  The magician, know as Ishkabibble, is a huge success and it was very obvious why, when I heard my children and the others laughing as they did, not to mention my husband Des, who laughed so hard, he had tears in his eyes!  It was a fun morning! I was successful too with my shopping trip and thankfully crossed off a few more Christmas gifts from the list.   Today was spent buying and bringing home the tree, trimming and decorating it, and decorating and lighting the house too. Phew, I need to get to bed!!  So, just a quick post with tonight’s card. I stamped Snow Flurries by SU!,  on acetate, then I punched circles out of it. I framed them by punching …
