Well, it has been a busy couple of weeks. We flew home last weekend from New Brunswick after visiting with my MIL and had to regroup and focus on the demands of our routine here at home. Laundry, groceries, appointments, housecleaning, homework … it amazes me how tiring these mundane tasks can be. I have just not had the energy to do much in the way of crafting this week.
We had a good visit with my MIL. She is such a lovely person, and it is so difficult to see her health deteriorate at such a quick rate. She is very witty and I enjoyed my time with her. It was so good for the boys to see their Nanny now too, as she still does not look as sick as her condition would suggest. She is on oxygen, due to her reduced lung capacity, but she still was able to joke and laugh with them, and that is what they will remember. It was difficult to say goodbye, for all of us. Thanks to all of you for your kind comments and encouraging words for our family, it really means so much!!
Last night I let the boys stay up late and we watched a movie together. They don’t stay up late very often, it’s a treat for them occasionally on the weekends only. They just don’t sleep in the next morning, so if they stay up too late, then they are too cranky the next day! Anyway, after they were off to bed, I decided to take a look at the Free 4 All challenge on Splitcoaststampers. It was a “I want the fairytale” theme, so I made this glittered up fairy birthday card. I always enjoyed stories of fairies as a child, and dreamed that they existed in my own backyard!
The silhouette is cut using A Child’s Year cartridge, as are the mats framing her. (thfairys and toys1s card frame)
I used Stampin’ Up! All Holidays for the sentiment. Papers are bazzil pink and Stampin’ Up! black, and white card stock.
Thanks for the update on your MIL, Deena. Love the glittered wings. I just got my fairy card finished…sending to my little GD who’s got a bug.
