Thankful for the Falling Leaves

The days are getting shorter,  and the nights are getting colder,  Fall is definitely here!  The leaves seemed to have changed overnight! The colors are beautiful…orange, yellow,  red and brown and even gold!  I love the sound of the crunch underfoot and it will soon be time to get to raking.  The boys helped last year but they spent a lot of time piling the leaves in heaps so they could fall into them and POOF! all our hard work is undone! lol  But it’s SO MUCH FUN!! I sketched this image yesterday and I’m so pleased with how it turned out!   I think it captures the spirit of Fall for me.    I colored the image with copics in many shades of beige and brown and green  and added a touch of soft pale pink and grey to the child’s  jacket.  Now, if you know me, you know that my images are inspired by every day life and my own children, who happen to be both boys! But, I wanted to make this …

Hello Autumn!

The theme over at Crafty Creations Challenge blog this week is “Falling Leaves”;  I hope you’ll come and play with us!! I’ve scored a very vanilla cardstock base a half inch in lengthwise on the left and across the bottom, but I realize it’s hard to see in the picture.  The next panel is Basic grey dp (Indian Summer)  on a mat of chocolate cardstock.  I tucked two leaves (layered in kraft and dp) cut with the expression (Walk in my Garden cartridge) behind my favourite chocolate satin ribbon.  The sentiment is from Flourishes Taglines set, stamped in memento rich cocoa and punched with an SU! oval punch.  The edges are sponged with the same ink. What’s your weather like?  Today started out all blustery and cool like a real Fall day, but then did a complete switch too a balmy spring like day!!   I’m not complaining, but it sure makes picking what to wear in the morning, more of a challenge! lol Have a great day!!
