It’s one day away from Halloween…just enough time to get some last minute treat bags made for my boys! I used mostly scraps for this project, and turned some ENVELOPES into mini bags with a few simple scores and folds.
1. Seal the envelope (I used an A2 sized envelope) and score both long sides at 1/2″ and one short side at 1/2″. Cut across the top with decorative scissors.
2. Score the corner on the diagonal and then fold all score lines back and forth a couple of times to make sure they are not stiff. This will help you get the shape you want when you open it up into a bag.
3. Put your hand in the opening (like a sock puppet) to push open the bag/envelope and with your other hand push flat the bottom and pinch the side fold flaps. Glue these little flaps down with strong adhesive or red line tape to the bottom of the bag.
4. Crease your sides, by pushing middle line inwards and pinching along edges. Your 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″ bag is ready to decorate!
I used Happy Hauntings Cricut cartridge to cut some pumpkins, bats and trick or treat sentiments. The pumpkins are cut at 2″, the sentiment at 1″, and the bat at 1 1/4″.
Punches and stamps would work perfectly too!
These were so fun and easy to make! It would be a fun project to do with the kids too, so I may be showing them how tomorrow. They love using the cricut too! They have a P.E. day (no school) so just a long day of waiting and asking me if it’s time to go trick or treating yet!
